He’s expected to come head-to-head with the aforementioned Engels playing alongside Reo Hatate – the pair of whom both average over 1.2 fouls drawn per 90 minutes, further increasing the probability of him fouling.

Alistair Johnston has been very generously priced to win just a single foul given his impressive average of 1.32 drawn per 90 minutes across all competitions – the most of any Celtic player predicted to start.

The full back has already drawn at least 1 foul in 20 matches this season, including 5 out of 6 Champions League clashes. Over those 6 games, he’s drawn a significant total of 12 fouls despite coming off early in 3 including at half time against Dinamo Zagreb.

His value is enhanced by his potential opponent on Wednesday, Ebrima Colley, who’s averaging over 1.8 fouls per 90 minutes this season.

Hadjam represents another player who’s been drastically overpriced in the fouls-drawn market with the bookmakers seemingly missing his domestic average of 1.61 fouls won per 90 minutes this season.

The Algerian full back has drawn at least 1 foul in 12 of his 14 appearances lasting 65 minutes or more. In the Champions League, Hadjam has drawn a foul in 5 of his 7 games, despite coming off early in all bar 2.

Ebrima Colley has been a constant in the fouls department for Young Boys this season, averaging a massive 1.96 fouls committed per 90 minutes in the Swiss Super League.

He’s committed 2 or more fouls in half of his starts for Young Boys to date, significantly including 3 Champions League outings.

Colley is expected to start on the left-wing meaning it’ll be Alistair Johnston who’s tasked with containing him. That could be problematic for Colley given the Canadian full back already averages 1.32 drawn per 90 minutes.

Surely some of the best value of the evening is without a doubt found by backing Virginius to commit a single foul with the French midfielder already averaging a remarkable 2.00 fouls per 90 in the league.

He’s struggled for gametime this season with most of his fouls coming from the bench although he has managed 9 starts for Young Boys, sinning at least once in 6 of those matches.

No player on the pitch has maintained a higher fouling average than Itten who boasts a remarkable 2.79 per 90 across all competitions.

He’s sinned at least twice in 9 of his 13 starts this season but has gone far beyond that threshold in some instances, for example against Luzern when he managed 8 fouls (yes in 1 match), and against St Gallen when he sinned 6 times. In fact, across the 9 aforementioned occasions, he actually committed 3 or more in 7.

He’s only started 2 games in the Champions League with this selection coming home in both. Moreover, he actually sinned twice in 2 other UCL games despite playing just 17 minutes in 1 and 5 in the other.

Finally, we also expect Maeda to find himself penalised on 2 or more occasions which is no surprise given he’s Celtic’s most prolific fouler, averaging 2.21 per 90 minutes across all competitions.

The Japanese international has slipped up at least twice in 13 of his 23 starts to date including 3 Champions League clashes.

The Celtic star is expected to start on the left wing meaning Lewin Blum will be his likely dancing partner. The full back has averaged 1.40 fouls drawn per 90 this season so could represent tricky opposition.
