Wellington Phoenix v Adelaide United
🏟
Saturday 12th February – 5:50AM KO
Things are looking good for Wellington Phoenix at the moment with the side winning their third A-League game in a row with a 1-0 victory over Melbourne Victory on Wednesday, keeping them in touch with the sides at the top of the table. Adelaide saw their five game unbeaten run end last weekend with a defeat to Sydney FC but they will be hoping that loss is just a blip as they mount a title challenge.
Goals have certainly been flowing in games featuring Wellington in recent weeks with their matches averaging 2.9 goals per game so far this season. The 2.5 goal line has been beaten in six of their nine matches in the 21/22 season and the form of Hooper, Sotirio and Piscopo has contributed to an impressive season for the Nix so far.
Adelaide United have been even more successful in front of goal, with 17 goals in 11 games to this point but they’ve also conceded more than a goal a game on average. Their games have beaten the 2.5 goal line in 63% of their games this season with Craig Goodwin grabbing five himself as he looks to return to top form once more.
There certainly looks like there could be goals at Sky Stadium this weekend with both sides looking confident and full of attacking potential. With all signs pointing towards an entertaining game, the 2.5 goal line being broken looks like a decent bet and both teams will be keen to add to their impressive goal tallies in what could prove to be a vital game in the race for Finals Series football.

Melbourne Victory v Newcastle Jets
🏟
Saturday 12th February – 8:45AM KO
Midweek losses for both of these sides makes things a bit more interesting at AAMI Park this weekend and Newcastle Jets will be keen to capitalise against a Melbourne Victory side that picked up just their second loss of the season against Wellington Phoenix on Wednesday. A 4-2 loss for Newcastle against Melbourne City wasn’t ideal prep for the visitors though.
Despite their loss, Melbourne Victory remain in fourth position in the A-League Men’s table and that result was just the second time this season that Victory have not found the net with the attacking talent available for Tony Popovic proving vital so far this season. Victory have the second best goal per game rate this season but their defensive frailties have been clear to see with no clean sheets in their last seven games.
Newcastle Jets have had an inconsistent start to the A-League Men season, winning just twice and currently sitting in 10th position, with eight points. Goals certainly haven’t been an issue for the Jets with 15 goals in eight games but they have conceded at the same rate, costing them numerous points along the way.
Both teams have scored in five of the last six games featuring Melbourne Victory whilst the same can be said of seven of Newcastle Jet’s eight games this season. Goals look as though they could be on the cards this weekend in Melbourne and it looks quite safe in backing both teams to score in this contest.

Sydney FC v Western United
🏟
Saturday 12th February – 8:45AM KO
These two sides come into the game both in good form as the pair of title contenders meet at the Jubilee Oval on Saturday. Both are unbeaten in three games and are separated by just three points in what could prove to be a pivotal clash at the top of the A-League Men table.
Sydney FC enter the contest off the back of wins over Central Coast and Adelaide, both by a single goal, and are currently in third position. There has been somewhat of an overhaul at the club in recent weeks with Joel King leaving the club for Europe and many players within the squad nearing the end of their contracts. Despite this, form has been good for the side and they come into the game this weekend full of confidence.
Western United aren’t short of positive feelings themselves with the side picking up important wins over Melbourne City and Western Sydney in recent weeks and sitting top of the table as a result. Excellent defensive displays have proved to be the bedrock of the side’s success this season and, with just eight goals conceded in 10 games, it looks as though this could be a tight game once again.
With both sides in such good form, and Sydney struggling to keep clean sheets this season (they’ve kept just two clean sheets in 11 games this season), there looks to be plenty of value in the double chance market and it’s not impossible to see Western United coming away from the game with at least a point.

Prediction: Wester United Double Chance, 1.83 on Betfair (⭐⭐⭐)
Central Coast Mariners v Perth Glory
🏟
Sunday 13th February – 6:45AM KO
Central Coast Mariners proved to be the surprise package in the A-League last season, performing well above expectations and qualifying for the Finals Series. This season has been a bit more of a struggle for the side from the Gold Coast and they currently sit in midtable. Perth’s season has been disrupted by postponements more than most and they have played just seven times so far this term. This has had an effect on their form and they are bottom of the table heading into this game.
Central Coast showed great resolve to come back from two goals down to secure a 3-3 draw with Macarthur FC in midweek, a point that kept them in touch with the top six. That was the third match in a row that a match featuring Central Coast has seen four or more goals with the side scoring six in that time but conceding nine, highlighting their defensive weaknesses.
Perth Glory have really struggled for consistency so far and this has led to them propping up the table. They do have games in hand however and there is certainly quality within their squad, with the likes of Bruno Fornaroli and Daniel Sturridge yet to find the form that they are capable of. A change in fortunes could come this weekend though with Central Coast leaking goals in recent weeks. With the home side unable to keep a clean sheet and Perth starting to look a little more dangerous in attack, the over 2.5 goal market looks like it provides the most value and there should be plenty of action in front of goal to secure the winning selection here

Brisbane Roar v Macarthur FC
🏟
Sunday 13th February – 7:45AM KO
. Brisbane Roar haven’t enjoyed their A-League Men season so far, winning just two of their nine games and sitting second bottom of the league. Goals have been the main issue for the side, with The Roar averaging less than a goal per game this campaign. Macarthur have enjoyed a little more success but their form has dipped in the past few weeks, with the A-League’s newest addition going four games without a win.
Brisbane Roar have exchanged wins and losses over the past four matches and this inconsistency has stopped them climbing the table. The team has really struggled in front of goal, scoring more than one goal in just one game so far and the lack of talent in the final third is evident with only Nikola Mileusnic scoring more than a single goal in the nine games played.
Macarthur started the new season superbly with four wins in their first five games but they’ve now gone four games without a victory, slipping to fifth in the league. They’ve still averaged two goals a game over their poor run of form though and it’s been defensive issues that have cost them vital points during this time. Macarthur will be keen to return to winning ways and, with Brisbane looking well below par, this could be the perfect fixture for the visitors. The draw no bet odds are very generous for this game and offer some protection if Brisbane are able to hold their opponents to a draw
