Cheshunt v Havant and Waterlooville (National League South)
🏟
Saturday 29th October – 3:00PM KO
Cheshunt have found some form recently, getting 6 points from 3 games which leaves them with their first two wins since the first gameweek of the season. As a result, they’ve found themselves 5 points away from safety – something they’ll be pleased with considering their position a few weeks back. However, as the problem originally was, they are still without a consistent goalscorer. The two games they’ve won have been 2-1 and 1-0, in which they had three different goalscorers. It is strongly arguable that they’ve won these games due to a strong back line, mixed in with the fact that the wins were against Hemel Hempstead who are 14th and Hungerford are 23rd. I suspect they will struggle against a side with quality and structure.
Havant and Waterlooville suffered their first loss of the season last weekend and followed this up with a 2-2 draw against a strong Bath City side. This leaves them with a record of 9 wins, 3 draws and only 1 loss. Their aggressive sense of play has led them to score the 2nd most goals this season, with Jake McCarthy, Jason Prior and Muhammadu Faal all within the top ten scorers of the National League South. They should have too much for the Cheshunt defence which has proven on numerous occasions to have a range of flaws.
I feel as though this bet has good value with Havant being on poor form recently and Cheshunt picking up some points. However, Havant play Ebbsfleet next week so they will need momentum going into this game and it must also be considered that Cheshunt are yet to beat a team in the top 8.

Dartford v Weymouth (National League South)
🏟
Saturday 29th October – 3:00PM KO
Dartford have managed to move themselves into second in recent weeks, 4 points away from the unbeaten Ebbsfleet currently sat at the top. They haven’t lost a league game since the start of September (unbeaten in 8) and will certainly be looking to chase down the league leaders. Samir Carruthers has scored 6 goals in 13 games so far, making him Dartford top scorer and 6th in the league. Pierre Fonkeu has also been on golden form recently, scoring in both of their last two wins. The momentum that Dartford have currently means they should be backed against pretty much every side in the league, Weymouth should not cause them any problems – especially at home.
Weymouth are seemingly in quite a lot of trouble. They currently sit bottom of the table, 9 points from safety with all teams around them catching form. They’ve only won one game this season, thanks to Cameron Murray in the 89th minute away to Slough. This leaves them with 1 win, 2 draws and 10 losses so far – their momentum sits at rock bottom. I really can’t see them getting anything away from home against a Dartford side that are unbeaten in 8 league games and are chasing top of the table. Their quality should be too much for Weymouth on Saturday.

Hemel Hempstead v Ebbsfleet United (National League South)
🏟
Saturday 29th October – 3:00PM KO
Hemel Hempstead have found some strong form recently, pushing themselves out of the relegation zone after getting 2 points in 6 games prior to that. They now sit in 14th with 5 wins, 3 draws and 6 losses. Their form has been very inconsistent recently though, beating Slough who are one point behind them but then losing to a Cheshunt side that had lost 10 games in a row. One thing noticeable about the home side is that they are yet to beat any side in the playoff positions. They now play the strongest team in the league that are clinging on to a 4 point league lead.
Ebbsfleet are yet to lose a game this season, with 11 wins and 2 draws. One of those draws came last week where Rakish Bingham missed a 90+11 penalty which would have secured them the win. Dominic Poleon has scored 12 goals in 13 games, he will be looking at this game as an opportunity to further this outstanding record. They will also be looking to continue their strong form into next week where they face Havant & Waterlooville in a top of the table clash.
Hemel Hempstead will be looking to get something out of this game, I don’t doubt that. However, Ebbsfleet know they need a win here with Dartford closely behind them so they’ll be playing with an aggressive sense. From the 5 games Ebbsfleet have played away, they have won 4 and drawn 1.
