The World Cup 2022 in Qatar is about to kick-off, but the Eerste Divisie is squeezing in another round before the fun starts. On Friday, number four in the league table, FC Eindhoven take on Telstar. The away side are on a pretty incredible eight match unbeaten run, but six of those matches ended in a draw, so they are still sitting in the bottom half of the table.

In those eight matches, they didn’t meet any of the top five teams or the wealthier teams that got relegated from the top flight last season, so Eindhoven away will be a tough test. Eindhoven are again having a decent season in which they are fighting for direct promotion. They did receive quite the blow in their last match in a 5-2 defeat against fellow promotion candidates PEC Zwolle. Eindhoven kept up with PEC Zwolle for over an hour (2-2), in which they were equal to their rivals, but two goals in three minutes broke Eindhoven and they failed to create another chance from there.

Apart from that, Eindhoven have been decent recently, and should be able to collect the full three points here, bringing Telstar’s eight-match unbeaten streak to an end.
