Atalanta v Real Madrid
📅
Kick Off: Tuesday 10th December at 20:00
🏆
Competition: UEFA Champions League
📺
Watch Live: TNT Sports 1
Two very fascinating sides in this year’s Champions League campaign lock horns on Tuesday night in Italy, as Real Madrid travel to face Atalanta.
The visitors are seriously struggling to string together some form on the European stages and this week’s task could certainly be full of more traps laid in the long grass against the current Serie A leaders.
⭐ Atalanta v Real Madrid Best Bets
Atalanta are playing some of the best football in Europe right now. They have won all of their last 9 consecutive games in all competitions and are unbeaten in 14 matches. They are a Serie A contender and are up there with the likes of Inter and Napoli in terms of performance. They are well managed by Gian Piero Gasperini and have a tremendous record in big matches.
This won’t be easy facing a Real Madrid team who need a result, but Los Blancos have already lost to Lille and AC Milan in this UCL campaign and there is a strong argument that Atalanta are the better side at the moment.
The hosts are slightly disrespected on the DNB market and it looks like a great value bet on a side who haven’t lost in any competition since September 24th.
🟢 Atalanta v Real Madrid #WhatOddsPaddy Tip
The referee, Szymon Marciniak, averages 0.42 penalties per game in 50 Champions League matches officiated, which is on the high side. He awarded both teams penalties in the last World Cup final and in a Champions League quarter-final in 2023.
Real Madrid have received 7 penalties in La Liga this season, which is by far the most of any team, which is followed closely by Atalanta, who have also received the joint most number of penalties in Serie A this term.
Both sides rank in the top 10 for fouls obtained in their respective leagues, this selection could offer some value here.

🔍 Atalanta v Real Madrid Players to Watch
🔵 Mateo Retegui
Retegui has been in great form this season, netting 12 goals in Serie A and also bagging a couple in the Champions League. He averages 3.40 shots per game and will certainly get numerous chances if he takes to the field.
Retegui plays in an Atalanta team which creates numerous chances and will play as the one central striker, sometimes with two playmakers behind him. He didn’t start against AC Milan on Friday night and was only given 15 minutes off the bench as a substitute. That suggests he could be in line to start this game, in which case, he’s a huge price to hit the back of the net considering his form this season.
⚪️ Jude Bellingham
The England international has quite simply been in brilliant form and has scored or assisted in 7 of his last 8 competitive games. After a slow start to the season in which he had a change of role, Bellingham has been more offensive minded in recent weeks and the current absence of Vinicius Junior means more is expected of him in the final third.
He’s currently playing in behind the striker which is giving him an excellent chance to get on the scoresheet. It must also be noted that he might have wrestled penalty taking duty which would give further weight to the argument that he could score here. 2.70 looks great value in the score or assist market.
⚪️ Kylian Mbappe
The French national team captain is a man on a mission at the moment, eager to prove a point to his critics. Mbappe has scored in 3 of his last 5 games and has been looking sharper in recent weeks, he was shut out by Liverpool in their latest Champions League game but he’s a tough man to contain for long.
Mbappe’s shot count stands out in the last 5 La Liga matches. He’s racked up 21 shots in that time frame with 11 on target. Mbappe has registered at least 2 shots on target in all of his last 4 domestic affairs and could be a big price to match that here. We don’t even need him to score in this instance but just simply fire two shots on target.
