Everton v Brighton

Maxim De Cuyper to have More Shots than Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

🗓️

Kick Off: Sunday 24th August at 14:00

📈

Odds: 3.30

It may seem odd to back a right-back ahead of a midfielder for shots, but Maxim De Cuyper is one of the most forward thinking full backs in Europe here, making him a solid choice to back over Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall for shots here, with the midfielder looking like he’ll play a slightly deeper role for the Toffees this season.

Dewsbury-Hall saw very little of the ball in the final third against Leeds on the opening weekend of the season. He didn’t have a shot and only created one chance in the game, he’s also playing in a side that aren’t that effective in the final third - Everton only had seven shots against Leeds.

De Cuyper created two chances on his Premier League debut against Fulham and was constantly pushing up into advanced positions. This is not really a surprise seeing as De Cuyper registered eight goal contributions across his 34 starts for Club Brugge in the Belgian First Division last season.

He had 40 shots across these games (1.17 per 90) and that record could increase further now that he’s playing for a Brighton side that is quite attacking minded on the road - Brighton scored 36 goals across their 19 away games last season, only Liverpool scored more (44).

Crystal Palace v Nottingham Forest

Elliot Anderson to Commit More Fouls than Tyrick Mitchell

📈

Odds: 1.40

🗓️

Kick Off: Sunday 24th August at 14:00

Elliot Anderson committed 49 fouls across his 37 Premier League appearances last season (1.61 per 90). He’s far more likely to be engaged with the opposition than Mitchell who only committed 23 fouls across his 37 Premier League appearances last season (0.67 per 90).

Mitchell’s foul average is low as he doesn’t look to charge into challenges and is also an excellent tackler of the ball. Mitchell won 55 tackles in the Premier League last season (1.60 per 90) which, when partnered with his low foul average, tells us that Mitchell wins the ball cleanly when he does engage with the opposition more often than not.

Anderson committed three fouls in this fixture last season from 26 duels, Mitchell didn’t commit a foul and won four of his five duels in the game. The Palace left back was up against Anthony Elanga on that occasion who has a strong foul won average in the Premier League, further displaying the composure that Mitchell has from left wingback.
