An attacking side like the Netherlands are bound to enjoy their fair share of corners against Bosnia on Tuesday night. The Dutch have only once in their five Nations League A games this season been awarded fewer than five corners.

That particular game was a tight and tense affair away against Germany, in which the hosts had four corners to the Netherlands’ three.

Ronald Koeman’s side had 10 corners in their opening game against Bosnia, seven in the home game against Germany, five home and away at Hungary, so you can see why we’ve backed the Dutch to be awarded at least five corners here.

The top scorer in the Nations League A for the Netherlands heading into their final group game is full-back Denzel Dumfries.

Dumfries has appeared in all five group games so far, scoring three goals, and we’re backing the Inter Milan defender to have at least one shot against Bosnia on Tuesday.

The 28-year-old, who also has one assist to his name, likes to get forward and plays a key role in the way the Netherlands attack. Dumfries is averaging 1.4 shots per game in the Nations League this season and only two player in the Dutch squad have played more minutes than him.

Bosnia captain Edin Dzeko is the top scorer for his country in the Nations League this season with two goals, but that hasn’t stopped his nation from losing four of their five group games.

We’ve backed Dzeko, who didn’t play a single minute of the 7-0 defeat to Germany at the weekend, to register at least two shots on target on Tuesday night. The veteran forward is averaging 2.3 shots per game in the 2024 Nations League and the 38-year-old, who has 67 goals in 138 caps for his country, will be expected to lead the line against the Netherlands.

We’ve talked about Denzel Dumfries’ ability going forward and how that plays a big role in the way the Netherlands attack, but his key task is defending.

Dumfries is averaging 1.80 fouls per game in Group 3 of the Nations League A, which is higher than any other player in the Dutch squad. The Inter Milan full-back averages two tackles per game which suggests that when he does try to win the ball back, Dumfries often gives away free kicks.

We’re expecting the Netherlands marauding full-back to be very busy going forward against a poor Bosnia side on Tuesday but he will have to be wary about giving away too much space in behind when the hosts do counterattack.

There is a good chance that Bosnia won’t see a lot of the ball against the Netherlands on Tuesday and that’s going to mean that the hosts will be forced to put in plenty of challenges for the ball.

Ermedin Demirovic has made four appearances in the Nations League A this season and no other Bosnia player is giving away more fouls per game than the 26-year-old. Demirovic, who plays his club football for Stuttgart, is averaging 2.3 fouls per game in this competition.

Demirovic has also been booked twice in his four Nations League appearances, so despite being an attacking minded player, the Stuttgart man plays a very physical game that often crosses the line.

For this next tip we’ve been looking at the player most likely to have shots on target when Bosnia play host to the Netherlands on Tuesday and have settled on Tijjani Reijnders.

Midfielder Reijnders has featured in all five group games so far for Ronald Koeman’s side and only Xavi Simons is averaging more shots per game than the AC Milan man (2.8).

Reijnders is averaging 2.6 shots per game in the Nations League A this season and his shot on target average per game is the highest in the Dutch squad at 1.2, even forward Cody Gakpo is only averaging 1 shot on target per game.

Bosnia have been one of the dirtiest teams in the Nations League this season, picking up a grand total of 14 yellow cards in just 5 games which makes for an average of 2.8 bookings per game.

Meanwhile, the Netherlands have been shown 4 yellow cards and 1 red card in their five games – that makes for an average of 1 booking per game. Bosnia look generously priced here.

These two nations have met three times before, two of those encounters have produced over 3.5 goals. When the pair locked horns in September for their reverse Nations League match-up, 7 goals were scored as the Netherlands ran out 5-2 winners.

Three of Bosnia’s five games in the Nations League this season have produced over 2.5 goals, with Sergej Barbarez’s side shipping 7 goals against Germany on Saturday.

Four of the Netherlands’ last six matches have witnessed at least three goals, including their 4-0 win over Hungary at the weekend.
