Sunday’s Brazilian Serie A Accumulator Tips
Although both teams have nothing left to play for, it’s difficult to ignore Gremio’s good form at home as well as Corinthians six-match winning streak.
The hosts have scored 11 goals in their last five home matches, including 3-1 wins against Fortaleza and Atletico GO, as well as beating Sao Paulo 2-1 at the start of the month. The addition of Martin Braithwaite has been excellent, as the former Barcelona man has scored 8 goals in 17 appearances.
Yuri Alberto has 14 goals to his name and 1 more goal could see him win the golden boot before he departs to Europe – alongside Memphis Depay the pair have scored 20 goals this season.
Corinthians have scored 14 goals in their last 5 matches – winning all of them – and this can be an entertaining end to the season.
Botafogo need just a point to win their first league title in almost 30 years and the odds are heavily in their favour. However, only 8 of their 37 games this season have seen them beat a side by 2 clear goals, and recent form at home hasn’t been the best.
Draws against Vitoria, Criciuma, Gremio and Cuiabá have been frustrating results for the hosts, and their price looks incredibly short to go and hammer Sao Paulo. The two sides have met three times this season – drawing each match – and with Botafogo knocking São Paulo out of the Libertadores on penalties, they’ll want revenge. The hosts can win the title, but it might not be as easy as the odds suggest.
Flamengo have been formidable under interim head coach Filipe Luis and they are finishing the season strong. Not only did they manage to pick up the Copa do Brasil title, but the former-left-back has seen his team move into third place in the league.
A 3-2 win over Internacional at the Maracana was backed up with a convincing 3-0 win against Criciuma midweek, extending Fla’s unbeaten record to 11 matches across all competitions.
Under Luis, they’ve shown far more going forward than when they were under Tite. With the shackles off, we’re seeing a different side capable of winning matches convincingly.
Vitoria have done incredibly well to stay up at the first time of asking, but they’ve struggled on the road against “better” opposition. Corinthians, Fortaleza, Internacional and Cruzeiro have all beaten Vitoria at home, while scoring over 2.5 goals. Expect Flamengo to wrap up their season in style.
It has been a season to forget for Cuiaba who will be playing in Serie B next season. Sitting bottom of the table with just 30 points, they’ve only managed to score 28 goals all campaign – and only 15 at home. Both teams to score no has landed in 7 of their last 10 league matches, and there’s reason to believe that can continue against Vasco.
Vasco beat Cuiabá 1-0 in the reverse fixture, but they head into this fixture out of sorts. They’ve lost their last five away games, drawing a blank in three of those. In fact, they’ve only scored 12 away from home all year.
This match isn’t going to be a spectacle, but it’s one we can profit from as both teams can’t wait for the season to end.
Bahia have only won 1 of their last 5 matches but they still have an opportunity to secure a Copa Libertadores spot for next season. A win against 19th placed Atletico GO would guarantee that – a side that hasn’t won any of their last 14 away games (D3 L11).
Bahia rescued a late winner away to Cuiaba, but were humbled against Corinthians midweek, putting the pressure back on this fixture. However, forward Luciano Rodriguez has scored 2 in his last 4 matches, including the winner against Cuiaba, and Bahia are looking to build the team around him for next season.
It won’t be pretty, as the hosts have struggled to find any kind of form in the latter stages of the season, but this fixture is their last chance to secure Libertadores football against a side already relegated – and they can achieve that on Sunday evening.
