📈 Brentford v Tottenham Form & Stats

The Bees made it back-to-back Premier League wins by beating Bournemouth last time out, lifting them up to 8th in the table. After losing several key players and their manager over the summer, Brentford were being tipped for relegation, but they are just three points off Chelsea and the European spots. Keith Andrews has brought a different brand of football and his players have adapted seamlessly.

They have been helped by some impressive home form, with six wins from their nine home games this season. By contrast, they have been poor on their travels, with two wins and seven losses from their nine Premier League away matches.

After making the switch to Spurs in the summer, Thomas Frank’s men are currently one point behind Brentford. They have been incredibly inconsistent on the road - the North Londoners were unbeaten in their first seven away matches in all competitions this season, but followed that up with four defeats and a draw. Spurs finally broke out of that turgid streak at the weekend, as they held on to a 1-0 win at Selhurst Park, although it wasn’t the most convincing three points. The hosts were unfortunate not to score from their tally of 1.47 xG.

📔 Brentford v Tottenham Formation & Team News

Lucas Bergvall has emerged as an injury doubt for this game after being replaced at the weekend. With Xavi Simons suspended, Mohammed Kudus could shift into a more central role, with Brennan Johnson out wide. Archie Gray scored his first Spurs goal at the weekend, so he should continue to partner Rodrigo Bentancur in midfield. Djed Spence should retain his starting spot at left back with Destiny Udogie out, while Pedro Porro will occupy the opposite flank.

Sepp van den Berg missed out at the weekend due to a knock, and is doubtful to feature here. Kristoffer Ajer deputised at the back in his absence, and could partner Nathan Collins once again. Rico Henry has looked a bit rusty in recent weeks, so Aaron Hickey could feature at left back, while it should be an unchanged midfield for Brentford. Mathias Jensen has started in the advanced midfield spot in recent weeks, keeping Mikkel Damsgaard on the bench.

📊 Brentford v Tottenham Key Stats

  • Over 2.5 goals has landed in nine of Tottenham’s last 11 matches in all competitions.

  • BTTS has landed in five consecutive home games for Brentford.

  • Spurs have been shown 2+ cards in each of their last seven matches.

  • Brentford have drawn 2+ cards in eight of their nine home games this season.

  • Spurs have conceded 4+ shots on target in 10 of their 13 away games this season.
