⭐ Croatia v Czech Republic Predictions and Best Bets
While the Czech Republic have made a perfect start to their qualifying campaign, a trip to Croatia will represent their sternest test to date. Croatia have long had a reputation as a tough nut to crack, particularly at home. Zlatko Dalic’s team triumphed in home games with Poland, Scotland and France in the Nations League, as well as holding Portugal to a draw. Thus, Croatia should prove too strong at home for the Czech Republic.
Having struck twice in their recent home game with France, Croatia are more than capable of repeating the trick here at odds of 1.8.
🔴 Croatia in Decent Shape
Croatia bounced back from the disappointment of their Nations League defeat to France with a 7-0 thumping of Gibraltar on Friday. It was one-way traffic from the off, with Croatia racking up 30 shots on goal, 13 of which hit the target.
That victory means that Croatia have avoided defeat in six of their last eight matches, scoring at least once in six of those contests. Zlatko Dalic will have been pleased to see his team post a clean sheet on Friday, as his side failed to silence their opponents in six of their eight Nations League matches.
⚪ Czech Republic on an Upward Curve
The Czech Republic have been on an upward curve since suffering an early exit at Euro 2024 last summer. Ivan Hasek’s side secured promotion to Nations League Group A, topping Group B1 ahead of Ukraine, Georgia and Albania.
The Czechs have since made a neer flawless start to their World Cup qualifying campaign, defeating the Faroe Islands, Gibraltar and most recently Montenegro. While the Czech Republic have taken early control of Group L, they face a real acid test of their table-topping aspirations at the Opus Arena on Monday night.
📊 Croatia v Czech Republic Head-to-Head Key Stats
Somewhat surprisingly, Croatia and the Czech Republic have only crossed paths three times on the international circuit to date. The first of those three meetings was a friendly fixture way back in 2011, with Croatia claiming a 4-2 win on that occasion. The two nations have since run into each other at both Euro 2016 and Euro 2020 respectively, with each of those two contests ending all square.
Ivan Perisic and Patrik Schick both got on the scoresheet the last time the two teams went head-to-head and both players are expected to feature on Monday night.
