Andy Cook has become synonymous with Bradford City over the last few seasons, but his season ending injury in December 2024 coincided with a run of form which saw Bradford automatically promoted to League One. He is now fit again after The Bantams have made a bright start in the third tier, back with two goals in the Vertu Trophy in midweek. His presence in the team as a burly striker requires a certain kind of service, but Graham Alexander’s side have thrived with a more footballing approach, with the likes of Bobby Pointon and Stephen Humphrys carrying the side forward. It will be interesting to see if he is brought back into the starting line up anytime soon.

This is the fourth successive season that these two sides have existed together in the same division, but the first in League One after both teams achieved promotion.

Doncaster won both games last season 2-1, but before that Bradford were undefeated against Rovers in six games.
