🛑 PSG to commit 14+ fouls
PSG are committing many more fouls in the Champions League than they are domestically, averaging 12 per game in Europe. This compares to Luis Enrique’s side giving up 10.4 fouls per match in Ligue 1.
They’ve given away at least 14 fouls in four of their last 18 continental fixtures.
Their previous match away to Dortmund, in the group stage, saw them pick up 14 fouls, suggesting that doing so again is very much within the realms of possibility.
The high-stakes nature of the match increases the prospect of players committing tactical fouls, particularly in the latter stages of the encounter if the play becomes stretched.
🎯 Kylian Mbappe to have 3+ shots on target
Mbappe leads Les Parisiens in shots on target in the Champions League this season with 19 – ten more than any other player in the squad.
Has managed at least three shots on target in PSG’s four knockout fixtures in the competition this season, including four away against Barcelona in the previous round.
Multiple shots on target in six of last eight European fixtures.
He has played every minute of Champions League football this season and it would be surprising if he was to be withdrawn in this type of game.
Rested from the start of the weekend’s draw with Le Havre, so comes into this match fresh.
🛑 Niclas Fullkrug to commit 1+ fouls 🔄️
Committed two fouls when Dortmund met PSG at home back in December in what was a physical battle.
Has given away a foul in eight of his last 12 club matches.
Likely to play the vast majority of the game, maximising his time to commit a foul.
Dortmund may target a physical approach in their attacking play as this is seen as a weakness of PSG’s central defence, and playing direct to Fullkrug to battle for first and second balls is, therefore, a logical tactic. It also increases the possibility of fouls both for and against the Germany international centre forward.

👑 PSG to win
PSG have found their form away from home in the Champions League, winning their two knockout fixtures on the road.
Luis Enrique has had the luxury of being able to rotate his squad to focus on this competition. Players were kept fresh during the weekend’s draw with Le Havre while Dortmund were close to full strength against RB Leipzig in a vital Bundesliga match.
PSG in much stronger form than their opponents, winning three of their last four. BVB come in with two wins in six.
Edin Terzic’s side have had a lower xG than their opponents in four of last five games, showing their poor run of results is not a coincidence.
🥅 Ousmane Dembele to score anytime 🔄️
Dembele has scored four times in his last four starts. Has found the net in each of the last three matches in which he has played more than 45 minutes.
He scored both home and away against Barcelona and looks a persistent threat in that tie.
His confidence is clearly up and he is a dangerous player when he starts to get self-belief in front of goal.
Averaging 1.05 shots on target per 90 in the Champions League and he has played at least 80 minutes of eight of the nine European games he has been involved in this season.
Will feel comfortable in these surroundings, having played successfully for Dortmund in the past – playing against his former club did not phase him in the quarters v Barca.
🟨 Ian Maatsen to be shown a card 🔄️
Maatsen is likely to find himself up against the dangerous Dembele as a direct opponent in this encounter. Just one mistimed challenge could see him booked for stopping a dangerous PSG break given the role he plays.
Already has five yellow cards for Dortmund, despite having played only 14 games since joining on loan from Chelsea in January.
Booked in three of his last four matches – despite playing just 45 minutes in Bundesliga fixtures against Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen.
Lacks experience at this level. Had not played a European knockout tie before this season and this will be his first semi-final.
