An immediate bounce-back is required from Den Bosch after they were heavily beaten 0-4 away to Dordrecht in the previous round. That was always going to be a tough game and Den Bosch will now have to lean on their home form. This is a team who have already qualified for the end-of-season playoffs, so actual league position won’t matter to them. But with four rounds remaining, the last thing they want to do is lose momentum and come into the postseason stone-cold.

They face a VV Venlo side who are out of the reckoning to finish in the playoffs. They are down in 14th place, and their form has been quite mixed recently. Venlo have won three, drawn three and lost four of their last 10 league games, which is the definition of inconsistency. Their most recent road trips resulted in a 0-0 draw at struggling Jong Utrecht and a disappointing 1-2 defeat at FC Oss. Den Bosch are the better team and against mediocre opponents at best, should be able to register the win. Take them in the draw no bet market for some added security.

Motivation is likely to be the biggest factor here as playoff hopefuls FC Emmen face midtable Jong AZ. Emmen are in the hunt to secure the playoffs, and they can achieve that objective in different ways. Emmen could be the ‘period 4’ champion which would guarantee a berth or they can get into the top seven which would more than likely be enough. Emmen are currently situated in 7th and are in good form so need to keep winning, especially matches like this.

Jong AZ have performed the best of the Eredivisie ‘B teams’ this season and they sit a comfortable midtable on 42 points. They have conceded 59 goals, though and have a defence which can hardly be relied upon. Jong AZ have not won any of their last four games, and this match simply won’t mean as much for them. Emmen are the side who desperately need the win, and that counts for a lot at this stage of the season. Backing them to simply take the win looks like the best bet.

This could be quite an open game because both sides will be eyeing up the victory. Telstar are in 8th position and need to finish as high as possible to make the playoffs, they are the favourites to prevail, which is due to overall quality and also motivation. FC Eindhoven are probably too far back to realistically make the playoffs now with only four games remaining. They did, however, surprise De Graafschap with a 1-0 home win last week, which was their first in six games.

Telstar have had a good run of form since the winter break. They’ve won eight, drawn two and lost four times in that period, and their recent form has been especially strong with only the top two sides beating them since the start of February. They would be a dark horse to win the playoffs, if they can get in them. Only three teams have a poorer home record than FC Eindhoven, so this is a great chance for them to rack up what would be an important victory.

Nothing is riding on this match as two teams inside the bottom six face each other. Neither have shown any sort of form whatsoever to close out the season with each defence looking especially porous. Maastricht have lost seven of their last eight games and conceded 17 goals in that period. They face a Jong Utrecht side who are probably the worst in the division and have obtained the lowest number of points on the field.

The visitors have lost 20 out of 34 league games this season including 11 out of 17 on the road. Their 71 goals conceded has only been toppled by Jong PSV so the obvious port of call in their games is to take over 2.5 goals. With two very poor backlines on show there could be a lot of mistakes and opportunities. There’s no pressure on either team so we could get a really open end of season shootout type of affair.
