Friday’s Eerste Divisie Accumulator Tips
Den Haag are up to 8th position and generally found some form towards the back end of 2024. Seven wins out of 12 represents a decent return, with their match against De Graafschap postponed last week. Den Haag closed out 2024 with consecutive wins to nil, both at home in games where they were the clear favourite. This is another match they should dominate and we expect them to win well against a leaky Helmond outfit.
Helmond have gone massively off form and lost 7 of their last 9 games. Their defence has been terrible and failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last 15 fixtures now. Helmond have perhaps overachieved this season so it’s no real surprise to see them drop down the table. Den Haag could cover an over 2.5 goal line all on their own but Helmond know that realistically to get any points they are going to have to bring at least 2 goals to the table here.
Dordrecht were involved in a crazy 3-3 draw vs FC Eindhoven the last time they played at home. Only 3 teams in the Eerste Divisie have scored more goals and they have a plethora of attacking weapons. Devin Haen, Korede Osundina and Jaden Slory are all dangerous whilst midfielder Rocco Robert Shein is a dual threat for goals and assists.
After losing a crunch battle to promotion rivals Excelsior last week they will be desperate to get back on the horse quickly and lay down a marker. As a general 1.65 favourite they should prevail.
Jong AZ have had 14 out of 21 games go over 2.5 goals, which is the fourth most in the entire league. Only rock bottom Vitesse and Jong PSV have conceded more goals overall and there is a reason why they are not fancied to get anything out of this match.
Over 2.5 goals makes sense because Dordrecht absolutely need the win and have favorable opponents. Jong AZ have at least won their last 2 games so should be filled with confidence.
Volendam are top of the table and have scored the most goals (47) of any team in the division. In Henk Veerman and Robert Muhren they have two of the biggest goal scoring threats in the league with Bilal-Ould Chikh one of the top assist providers.
Fifteen out of 21 of their fixtures have gone over 2.5 goals and this is the sort of match where it is probably worth taking over 3.5 goals due to the scoring potential of Volendam and a porous Vitesse. The hosts could cover on their own but both teams could also score.
Only De Graafschap have had more over 3.5 goal games than Vitesse this season and their fixtures average a massive 3.70 goals per game. Rock bottom Vitesse had found some strong recent form but have now lost their last two games, 4-6 and 1-4.
They have only kept one clean sheet in their last 16 games and they are now in a position where they might as well have fun, try to enjoy their football and score goals. The shackles are off and this team have absolutely nothing to lose after their huge -27 point deduction which will all but guarantee their bottom placed finish.
Midtable outfit Telstar travel to a Venlo side who have picked up form recently. The home side are unbeaten in 4 straight games and should be buoyed by recent victories, 4-1 at Vitesse and 3-1 away to FC Eindhoven. They even held high flying Excelsior to a 1-1 draw just before Christmas.
Venlo are clearly a more confident side recently but haven’t solved their defensive issues. This is a team that has only kept 2 clean sheets all season so they know that they generally have to win shootouts to get all 3 points.
Telstar are actually the favourites to win this game around the 2.0 mark but they are too inconsistent to be trusted. Their form is very mixed and recent wins at home to Jong PSV and Helmond were when they were very short favourites to prevail.
Six of their last 7 games have gone over 2.5 goals and away from home this is a team that has only kept 2 clean sheets all season. A pair of road losses, 2-3 and 1-5 to Dordrecht and Maastricht respectively, show they are vulnerable away from home and over 2.5 goals looks overpriced considering Venlo’s recent upturn in form.
