Friday’s Eerste Divisie Accumulator Tips
Cambuur had a very slow start to the season but have rebounded well in the last couple of months. They head into this game having won 7 of their 9 league games and the key has been an improvement in front of goal.
They smashed Vitesse 6-0 on the road and in total have netted 13 times in their last 5 league games. Michael de Leeuw and Remco Balk have found some form and this looks like it should be a match containing a few goals. Cambuur were in midweek cup action when they lost 1-4 away to top tier side RKC Waalwijk, maybe this could be a problem for them on a short week of rest.
Jong AZ have had 13 out of 19 games go over 2.5 goals, which is the joint second most in the entire league. Only rock bottom Vitesse have conceded more goals overall and there is a reason why they are the clear underdog around the 6.0 mark this Friday night.
Maybe they can take advantage of some tired Cambuur legs and use their extended preparation to their advantage. AZ can’t defend so they need their attack to give them a chance.
Dordrecht claimed an important 1-0 win away to Roda last week. Only three teams in the Eerste Divisie have scored more goals and they have a plethora of attacking weapons. Devin Haen, Korede Osundina and Jaden Slory are all dangerous whilst midfielder Rocco Robert Shein is a dual threat for goals and assists.
This is an in-form team with 3 straight wins and currently unbeaten at home. All of Dordrecht’s last 5 home games have gone over 3.5 goals.
They face an FC Eindhoven team who haven’t been in bad form, but who might be tired after a midweek cup match vs Excelsior which ended 1-3. They suffered the same scoreline defeat at home to VVV Venlo last week and are generally a mid-table side at this level.
FC Eindhoven have scored at least once in all of their last 7 competitive games, Evan Rottier has been in good form upfront and Daan Huisman is a scoring threat from midfield.
We should expect a Dordrecht win with several goals likely to be scored. The home team could cover an over 2.5 goal line all by themselves, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if FC Eindhoven got on the board either.
The home team have been in poor form and sit 17th in the table. Jong PSV have only won 2 of their last 12 games and lost a massive 9 of those contests, failing to keep any clean sheets in the process. They are the underdog with the bookies here although this is a more winnable fixture against another poor defence.
The Jong PSV line-up is never the easiest to predict but home games are usually high scoring with 6 of their last 7 going over 3.5 goals. That goal line looks well worth taking again because this match could explode.
Rock bottom Vitesse found some strong recent form. They have picked up 7 points from their last 3 games since being hit with a further -21 point deduction and any pressure on them appears to have vanished.
They have only kept 1 clean sheet in their last 14 games though and they are now in a position where they might as well try to enjoy their football and score goals. The shackles are off and and this team have absolutely nothing to lose.
Two out of form sides meet here and neither defence has looked very good recently. Jong Utrecht are arguably the worst team in the league, they would be bottom if not for Vitesse’s points deduction and they have won just 1 match in 19 fixtures.
They have conceded a mammoth 38 goals which tells its own story. This is a miserable team and Jong Utrecht know they can’t rely on their defence to bail them out. At least they are playing a side that seems to have lost some form, but you couldn’t trust Jong Utrecht to beat anyone really.
Helmond have gone off form and lost 5 of their last 7 games. Their defence has been far too leaky and failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last 13 fixtures now. Helmond have perhaps overachieved this season so it’s no real surprise to see them drop down the table. They remain in the top seven but this is probably a mid table side at best.
Both teams should see this match as a chance to win, especially Helmond who need a strong result to get back on track. They should win, but due to an unreliable defence any win to nil is unlikely. Taking over 2.5 goals feels like the best direction to go in.
