Both Teams to Score

Strasbourg saw BTTS last time out as they ran out 3-2 winners over Paris FC to make it four wins from their five Ligue 1 matches this season, seeing BTTS in two of these matches.

BTTS landed in the most recent head-to-head meeting between the sides back in January as the sides contested a 1-1 draw. Both sides have started the season strongly when it comes to goals. Strasbourg have netted eight goals across their five matches, while Marseille have managed to score 10.

There is plenty of attacking talent on show here, which should lead to goals at both ends. Both Strasbourg and Marseille enter this game with real momentum, having each won their most recent assignments in Ligue 1.

Emmanuel Emegha to Score Anytime

Emegha is a player that I'm really excited about. The Dutch striker has already agreed to join Chelsea at the end of the season, and he’s looking to build on the 14 goals he scored for Strasbourg in Ligue 1 last season.

He’s started this campaign brightly with two goals and one assist across his three appearances, with just one of these being from the start. He also netted twice for Strasbourg in their Conference League qualifier against Brondby, which ended up crucial to their progression as the French side edged out the contest 3-2 on aggregate.

Emegha scored against Marseille in the most recent head-to-head meeting between the sides and could have had a brace if one of his efforts hadn’t come crashing back off the bar.

🔵 Rosenior Doing The Business

Strasbourg have started the season really brightly with four wins from their opening five matches. There’s no reason why they can’t be a real force in French football this season, PSG aside, with Liam Rosenior doing an excellent job when it comes to guiding this young but talented side, which is owned by BlueCo, bringing them under the umbrella of Chelsea’s ownership.

Kendry Paez scored his first goal for the club last time out. There’s a lot of expectation around him and what he could develop into, which is a pattern repeated across the Strasbourg squad. They have a core of some of the most talented players in Europe, with some experienced players sprinkled in, like Ben Chilwell, who has played in each of the last two matches.

Laboured Start From Marseille

Roberto De Zerbi looked like an excited little child after his side's 1-0 win over PSG last time out, their first against the Parisians since De Zerbi joined the club. The former Brighton boss claimed it was one of his main targets when he joined the club, and it could be a springboard for a potential changing of the guard in Ligue 1, though that was a PSG side that was missing Doue and the Ballon d’Or winner, Ousmane Dembele.

That result aside, it’s actually been a bit of a laboured start by Marseille. They’ve lost two of their five matches in Ligue 1 and also lost their opening game of the Champions League against Real Madrid. What I will see about this Marseille side is that De Zerbi’s fingerprints are all over the team - it’s the same system he employed at Brighton, which is equally fascinating as it is conceding to watch.

📊 Strasbourg v Marseille H2H

Strasbourg avoided defeat against Marseille last season, winning 1-0 at home and earning a 1-1 draw on the road.
