Best Bookmakers For Outright Betting

Most bookies offer strong outright betting markets for football, but some of the best include bet365, Paddy Power and SkyBet. The majority of bookmakers will offer outrights including league winners, top scorer, relegation and top 6/8/10 finish for example.

bet365 offer these markets, plus more niche outright markets, including team to finish above team markets. For example, you can back Bournemouth to finish above Man United on bet365, which very few bookies offer.

What are the best football outright betting odds?

The best football outright betting odds differ depending on both bookie and market, bet365 could have higher value odds on the Premier League outright winner than other bookies, while Paddy Power could have more competitive Premier League top goalscorer odds than their competitors.

It’s best to shop around for the best value odds for the market you want to bet on. At Andy’s Bet Club, our API functionality allows you to compare the odds of individual selections across several bookies, including Paddy Power and Betfair.

Which bookmakers offer outright betting markets?

The vast majority of bookies offer outright markets on football, including bet365, Paddy Power, Betfair, SkyBet and William Hill.

You’ll need to shop around to find specific, more niche markets, as while most bookies offer the basic markets like league winner and top scorer, there are plenty of lesser known markets available, some of which offer plenty of value.

What football outrights can I bet on?

The most common football outrights to bet on are; outright league winner, top goalscorer, team to be relegated, and top four finish.

However, there are plenty of additional markets available to bet on outright, including first manager to be sacked, top 6/8/10 markets, team to finish bottom of the table, bottom/top half finish and more.

Can I use Free Bets on outright markets?

Yes, you can typically use your free bets on outright markets when joining a bookie as a new customer, however, it’s worth checking the individual bookmaker’s t&c's before joining, just in case they have limitations on free bet usage.

What Is Outright Betting?

Outright betting is a bet that will run across the whole season, that is typically placed before the season starts. However, you can still place outright bets during the season, if you think you have spotted some value.

An example of an outright bet is backing Liverpool to win the Premier League or Erling Haaland to be the 25/26 Premier League top goalscorer - these bets can be placed now but won’t be settled until the end of the season.

How does outright betting work?

Outright betting works in the same way as regular betting on individual football matches. The only difference is that outright betting is long term, so your bet is likely to stay live for months, or until the competition you have bet on is finished. Typically, football outright bets last for the whole season, so your bet could be live for nine or 10 months.

What does outright winner mean in football?

Outright winner means you are backing a team to win the respective league/competition. For example, if you back Liverpool in the Premier League outright winner market on bet365, Paddy Power or another bookie, you are betting on them to win the Premier League.

Outright winner simply means the winner of whichever competition the market is for.

What are the benefits of outright betting?

The benefits of outright betting are that you can get ahead of the market in many cases. If you follow a particular league or division closely, and you are perhaps more in-the-know than the bookies, you can spot a mispriced outright before the season/competition kicks off and get some excellent value.

It’s best, generally, to back outrights before the season or competition begins, as once the season starts, markets tend to correct themselves and adjust accordingly to how teams are performing, meaning there can be much less value on offer.

What are the risks of outright betting?

The risks and potential drawbacks of outright betting are primarily that several factors can affect your bet, as the bet is likely to be live over an extended period of time, rather than just a match.

For example, you could back Liverpool to win the league today at a good price, and van Dijk or Salah could get a long-term injury or move to a new club before the season starts or at some point during the season.

Football Outright Betting FAQs

Outright football betting can offer plenty of value for punters, and be a fun and engaging way to follow a bet across the season. If you haven’t placed an outright bet before, here are some frequently asked questions on outright betting to help you.

Can I cash out my outright bets?

Yes, you will typically be able to cash out your outright bets across the season, with the cash out value depending on how your bet is doing, just like with normal football betting. For example, if you back Liverpool to win the league and in January, they are 5th, your cash out value is likely to be very low.

The cash out ability for outrights is typically suspended during matches that your team/player that you have backed is playing in, but most of the time, cash out should be available.

When are outright odds and markets released?

Outright odds and markets are out now for most major football leagues for 25/26, outright markets are typically released 1-2 months before the start of the season, but can change all the time.

Premier League and EFL outright markets are live now, however, there may well be additional markets that become available closer to the season starting.

Can I bet each-way on football outrights?

Yes, you can often back outright bets each-way, depending on the market and bookmaker. Baking each way means you are covering the case that your bet goes close but doesn’t win, and you’ll still get a return.

For example, if you were to back Newcastle to win the Premier League at the current 25/1 that is available each-way, for this market on bet365, each-way pays 2 places. This means that if Newcastle win the league you would get your full returns, but you would also receive 1/3 of the return if they came second, as the bookie if offering 2 places.

Likewise, bet365 are offering 4 each-way places on the Premier League top goalscorer market. So if you backed Dominic Solanke at the current 33/1 each-way in this market, you would receive a return as long as he was in the top four goalscorers at the end of the season.

What is the best time to place an outright bet?

The best time to place an outright bet changes with various factors, including transfers, injury news, managerial changes and even factors like potential points deductions. Typically, the earlier you back your selection the better, as the market may be behind and you could be getting more value out of your selection.

Once the season starts and the league starts to take shape, outright markets typically offer less value as time goes on.

Is there value in outright betting?

There can be great value in betting outright, if you do it at the correct time. Outright markets hold the most value before the season starts, so the earlier you place your outright bets, the better as a rule. However, factors like injuries, transfers and manager changes can affect your bet and sway odds in both directions.
