Justin Hood has been the story of the tournament so far with Happy Feet progressing to the quarter finals, despite starting the tournament as a 300/1 outsider. 

His 180 hitting has been the most notable aspect of his game so far at the World Championships with Hood firing in 31 180s across 80 legs of darts (0.38 per leg). This is just short of the rates of players like Josh Rock (0.40 per leg) and Luke Littler (0.44 per leg), suggesting that Hood has found his scoring boots at the perfect time.

He’s covered this line in two of his four matches at the World Championships already, and we should benefit from this game being a slightly longer format with it being first to five sets. Hood put in his best performance on the 180 front so far against Josh Rock last time out, firing in 10 180s across 18 legs (0.55 per leg).

Justin Hood has been brilliant at the World Championships so far, but I think this will be the end of the road for ‘Happy Feet’. When looking through the opponents he’s overcome so far, none of them have real experience of getting to the latter stages of the World Championships - but Gary Anderson crucially has been here many times before and I think that experience will be telling.

Hood has also been outperforming his seasonal numbers to some tune and I'm not sure how sustainable this will be in the latter stages of the tournament. He took out 75% of his doubles in a freak performance against Josh Rock in the last round, a rate he is highly unlikely to replicate here. He was also only a dart away from being knocked out by Danny Noppert in a thriller that could have gone either way.

Anderson looks really good at the moment, and to him this will be a very fortunate draw as he would have expected to take on Josh Rock or Danny Noppert at this stage. Anderson can live with the scoring of Hood, and should be full of confidence having already knocked out Michael van Gerwen, Jermaine Wattimena and Connor Scutt.
