He may have further progress to come at this extended journey, as a thoroughly unexposed type. If taking his chance, he may prove up to the task - especially in receipt of a whopping 14lb from his older rivals.

Dual Group One winner, FIELD OF GOLD, is hard to oppose in the feature race of the week - the G1 Sussex Stakes - over a mile. He backed up an impressive Irish 2000 Guineas success, with an equally as breathtaking victory in the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Receiving 8lb from his older rivals, it’ll take a huge performance to dethrone him as possibly the best horse in training.

Surprise G1 Coronation Stakes winner, CERCENE, may have been overlooked, especially at a fair each-way price. She is an ultra-consistent filly, who placed in the G1 Irish 1000 Guineas, prior to that superb Royal Ascot win, despite a slow start.

The rise to 1m2f may suit - especially as a daughter of G1 Epsom Derby winner, Australia. Don’t be shocked to see her go close.

Last season’s second in that race - ASFOORA - appeals to run a massive race this year, following a fine fifth in the G1 King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot.

That was her first run since a short break - so she could find improvement next-time-out - at a track which obviously plays to her strengths. She is also easily the top-rated in the race, from an official mark of 114.

HAMMER THE HAMMER could still be able to eke out more improvement, despite being raised 22lb since winning his first handicap in April.

He put in another personal best effort when runner-up in a 5f handicap at Royal Ascot. I don’t think we’ve reached the ceiling of his ability yet, and the extra furlong could easily see him compete for the placings at this downhill track.
