Two-year-old speedster AESTERIUS looks to have leading claims in the G3 Molecomb Stakes over the minimum trip of 5f. The Mehmas colt has made a highly encouraging start to his short career, winning two from three starts, including a smart success in the Listed Dragon Stakes at Sandown.

His previous fifth at Royal Ascot was worth upgrading – beaten just over a length by owner-mate Shareholder, and he should be well suited to this downhill track, as a strong-travelling individual. Mr Lightside, Celandine and Francisco’s Place ought to set a strong pace to aim at, which is likely to play to the selection’s strength.

HENRY LONGFELLOW has a good chance of getting his head in front here, especially following the admission of previous favourite Rosallion from the race. The Aidan O’Brien-trained three-year-old Dubawi colt improved dramatically from a below-par effort in the G1 Poule d’Essai des Poulains in May. He gained first run on Rosallion at Ascot but was reeled in close home.

The youngster could progress on this third effort for the season, especially on a downhill track.

JABAARA arrives for this assignment in tremendous form, having landed back-to-back Listed races, prior to an excellent placing in the G1 Falmouth Stakes over a mile at Newmarket. That was a clear career best from the three-year-old filly, who deserves her chance to win at Group level, as an unexposed type. The drop to 7f ought to suit perfectly and she holds outstanding appeal, at a course where she is likely to travel powerfully at.

WARDA JAMILA has three-and-a-half lengths to find with the likely favourite, Elladonna, on their running over this journey at Salisbury earlier in the month. The daughter of Calyx has a 4lb pull in the weights but also has the promise of improvement with a strong pace in the offering. She hung at a crucial stage in that Salisbury contest and could progress into the each-way placings, down 2lb in the weights.

YORKSHIRE got no sort of run when downfield in the highly competitive Bunbury Cup Handicap over this trip at Newmarket. He was making good progress when denied a clear passage 2f from home and was allowed to coast home thereafter. A drop of a pound in the weights is kind, considering he had a value excuse last time and was progressive previously. With untapped potential, the Harry Angel gelding may have the ability to play a hand in the finish, if able to navigate a run from his inside draw.

Our first selection in our Goodwood Lucky 15 comes in the 13:50 at Goodwood, where we have MIDNITE STORM, who hasn’t failed to finish inside the top four in his career.

Racing eight times, this three-year-old colt has been improving with every start. Starting out his career with two fourth place finishes, he has been knocking on the door with four second place finishes and a close third. Consistent with his performances, he got his well-earned first win last month at Redcar and will look to kick on with this under his belt.

Although slowly away last time out, he made up the ground quickly and was leading after the first 2f. Not an ideal way to run a race, exerting valuable energy early doors, but he showed great determination to see out the trip and should have no issues staying over 1m4f today with a better break and settling early.

Next up in our Goodwood Lucky 15, we have FAIR ANGELLICA, who has won five of her seven racecourse appearances.

A highly anticipated three-year-old who has had an exceptional start to her career after landing a hat-trick last year, she has continued this form into 2024. After finishing a close second on her return after a seven-month break, she has kicked on, recording wins at Kempton and Deauville this year. Just the one blip on her card when finishing 23rd of 30 at Royal Ascot, there were concerns that she may not stay the 1m trip, especially on the quickest ground she had faced. Not dwelling on the missed opportunity, she bounced back to win at Deauville earlier this month.

Racing back over her preferred 7f trip here today, the filly has won three of her four starts over 7f trips and finished second in her only loss. She holds strong claims heading into today.

Our next selection is ROARIN SUCCESS, who has been knocking on the door this year.

Racing four times this year, Roarin Success has landed all the twos, finishing second on three occasions and 22nd at Royal Ascot after rearing in the stalls, she has put in some solid performances, ignoring her Royal Ascot mishap. Narrow losses in her three second place finishes, she is a versatile filly who has shown she can race from any position on the track. Setting the pace in her two latest second place finishes and being held up on her reappearance at Ascot in May, it’s handy to have options if plan A doesn’t go to plan.

Looking to land her third career win here today and get off the mark in 2024, she’s showing positive signs and with her quality, her next win won’t be far away.

Last but not least, our final runner for our Goodwood Lucky 15, we have METAVERSE, who has produced solid runs in his first two outings on turf.

Racing eight times in his career, Metaverse has primarily been racing on all weather, with six of his eight appearances coming at all weather venues. Landing his first victory at Kempton over today’s 7f trip, this looks the perfect trip for the four-year-old, who has raced over a shorter 6f trip three times to lesser effect (finished 6,5,4). Racing over 7f, Metaverse has recorded finishing positions of 1,2,2,1 with his latest victory coming at Newmarket earlier this month, landing his second turf start of the year after finishing second in June.

Metaverse was unfortunate in his two second place finishes this year when beaten by small margins (neck and a head) and is looking to continue this impressive run of form today. Hitting top form at the right time, another solid performance looks on the cards here today.
