What Is an Odds Boost?
An odds boost is when a bookmaker increases the price on a specific selection above the standard odds.
Rather than getting the original price, you receive an enhanced version - if a horse is priced at 3.0, a boost might enhance those odds to 3.5, for example.
Boosts are offered across a range of sports and markets, and they can represent genuine value, but not all the time.
It’s important to identify and back the right boosts.
Today's Horse Racing Odds Boosts
We will cover the best horse racing odds boosts available across all major bookmakers, covering the full racing card.
Our commitment is to filter through the boosts published each day and highlight only those that represent value, ignoring the ones that are a trap.
This page will feature boosted winners, enhanced each-way prices and multi-horse combination boosts.
How We Pick Our Odds Boosts
We assess each boost against the underlying probability of the outcome using our Racing Ratings and Racing Hit Rates tools.
A boost is only worth backing if the enhanced price reflects value based on our own assessment of the horse's chances, not just because a bookmaker has chosen to promote it.
Who Are Our Racing Experts
Our racing odds coverage is led by Dave Revers, whose daily form analysis provides the foundation for identifying which boosts are worth taking.
Dave uses his 12 years of racing experience to pick out the value, with detailed reasoning to accompany selections.
The Racing Ratings and Racing Hit Rates tools support that process by providing a consistent, data-backed framework for evaluating each selection.
Racing Festivals and Major Events We Cover
Odds boosts are most prominent around the biggest fixtures in the racing calendar, and our coverage reflects that.
Cheltenham Festival, Royal Ascot, the Grand National, the Epsom Derby and Oaks, Glorious Goodwood and the York Ebor and Dante meetings are all covered in full.
Bookmakers typically publish their most competitive boosts around these events as they have more public interest and a higher betting volume.
Best Bookmakers for Racing Odds Boosts
For horse racing odds boosts, bet365 is our recommended platform. They consistently offer some of the most competitive enhanced prices across both flat and jumps racing, alongside Best Odds Guaranteed on all UK and Irish racing.
That means if the starting price beats the price you took, your winnings are automatically paid at the higher value. Bet365 also runs regular promotions, such as money back as a free bet if your selection is beaten by a nose, and their racing offers for existing customers are among the strongest in the market.

What Types of Racing Odds Boosts Are Available?
Single Winner Boosted
The most straightforward boost, for a chosen horse to win a specific race, offered at an enhanced price above the standard market odds. These are the most common boosts and the easiest to evaluate.
Each-Way Boost
An enhanced price applied to an each-way selection, covering both the win and the place portions of the bet. These offer a bit less risk than the single winner boost, which should be factored in.
Horse A or Horse B to Win
A dual-selection boost where you receive an enhanced price on either of two horses to win the race. Again, this is more likely to land than a single-winner boost as it carries less risk, but that will be reflected in the odds.
Place Boost
An enhanced price on a horse to finish within a specified number of places, rather than win outright. These are common in larger-field handicaps where placing is more achievable than winning.
Top Three Finish Boosted
This is very similar to a place boost, but the bookmaker may specifically mention where the horse must finish for it to count as a win.
These tend to be offered in races with big fields where top-three finishes are a reasonable target, and they can offer good value when a horse is strongly backed to place but faces competition at the top of the market.
Accumulator Boost
This is an enhanced price on a pre-selected accumulator, typically put together by the bookmaker. These need the most scrutiny, and can be hardest to evaluate whether they are good value.
Odds Boost FAQs
How is an odds boost different from a free bet?
An odds boost increases the price on a selection, meaning any winnings are paid in cash rather than as bonus credit.
A free bet is a stake provided by the bookmaker that you wager without risking your own funds, but the stake itself is not returned with any winnings.
The two promotions work differently - a boost enhances the return on your own stake, while a free bet removes the risk on a specific wager.
Are odds boosts worth it?
An odds boost is worth taking when the enhanced price exceeds the true probability of the outcome landing.
Just because a price has been increased, that doesn’t mean it necessarily presents good value.
The way to identify a good one is to assess the underlying selection independently and then compare the boosted price to your own estimate of the true probability.
How often are odds boosts updated?
Bookmakers publish new racing odds boosts daily, typically in the morning ahead of the first race, with additional boosts added throughout the day as later races approach.
Our page will be updated to reflect the best available boosts each morning and refreshed when significant new offers are added across the day's card.
During major festivals, the volume of boosts published increases significantly and our coverage reflects that.
