Haugesund v Bodo/Glimt
Kick Off: Saturday 1st June at 16:00
Competition: Norwegian Eliteserien
Haugesund have lost eight out of nine games and have obtained just one point this season
Haugesund have scored the fewest goals and conceded the most goals of any team in the Eliteserien
Bodo Glimt have lost five of their last six games in all competitions
Haugesund have been losing at half-time in seven out of nine matches
Haugesund are rock bottom of the table in the Eliteserien with just one point on the board. The club have decided to act by sacking Sancheev Manoharan and bringing in Toni Korkeakunnas. He takes over a team who are bottom of nearly every relevant metric in the Eliteserien. Haugesund have the worst attack and defence in the league, which is why they are as big as 11.0 to win this game.
Bodo Glimt are 1.27 favourites to prevail but the visitors themselves have been in mixed form. They beat Rosenborg 4-0 last weekend but have lost five of their last six games in all competitions. Over 2.5 goals is as short as 1.40 and BTTS yes priced at 1.80. This should be an away win but the new manager factor at Haugesund makes for an interesting development.
⭐ Haugesund v Bodo/Glimt Predictions and Best Bets
Bodo Glimt should win this match but odds of 1.27 in the 90 minute market might not appeal to many. Instead, we can get 1.62 on them leading at half-time. Haugesund have been trailing at the interval in seven out of nine games this season and there is a good chance Glimt comes out strong. Bodo/Glimt have been leading in six out of seven Eliteserien matches at the break this season.
Kasper Hogh has been in great form this season with seven goals in seven Eliteserien matches. He has now netted in three consecutive games and should be backed again at 1.90 to score anytime. He’s by far Bodo's biggest threat in attack and his strong physical ability is making life difficult for opponents.
Haugesund have only scored four goals in the league this season, with just one of those at home. They have been very limited offensively and despite a change of manager there’s a good chance that Bodo/Glimt can win this match to nil, which can be backed at generous odds of 2.25. The new manager at Haugesund could opt for a very defensive approach here, which could see his side offer little up top.
⚪ New Manager for Haugesund After Horror Start
Haugesund have been the worst team in the Eliteserien this season. They’ve lost eight out of nine games and have a goal differential of 4:23. They only just survived the relegation play-off last season so it was no real surprise to see them struggling. The club parted ways with manager Sancheev Manoharan after losing to Brann 0-2 last weekend and replaced him with Finnish boss Toni Korkeakunnas. He officially took charge on Tuesday and was most recently managing HJK Helsinki in Finland.
Considering they are big underdogs, maybe the new manager will employ the same defensive tactics he used in the Conference League for his former club, which primarily consisted of a 3-4-3 formation. There are a lot of question marks though and his first task is to stop their dire run of form which has seen them pick up just one point. Haugesund’s home record is bleak with three defeats and one draw.
🟡 Midweek Setback for Glimt against Viking
Bodo/Glimt had lost four consecutive matches in all competitions before beating Rosenborg 4-0 last weekend. It looked like they were back on track after a very impressive performance but then lost 2-4 at home to Viking in midweek.
Things looked good with a 2-1 half-time lead, but the red card to defender Jostein Gundersen changed the game and Glimt eventually succumbed to defeat. They are perhaps still vulnerable and Gundersen will now be suspended here as a result. Their away record is mixed with one win, one draw and one defeat.
📊 Haugesund v Bodo/Glimt Head-to-Head Key Stats
Haugesund have not won any of the last 12 head-to-head meetings between the two teams. Their last victory against Bodo Glimt was way back in 2018. Glimt have won the last four meetings, including the last three at this venue.
Last season’s two fixtures ended in a 4-2 and 1-0 victory to Glimt. This is now going to be a new manager match-up though compared to the previous campaign.
