Fuelled by a passion for sport and a sharp instinct for uncovering patterns in data, beating the bookies became the perfect outlet for my competitive streak. Now I take pleasure in sharing my finds with ABC punters. I enjoy finding niche angles and betting value in a range of markets and leagues, my favourite being in Serie A.
The Derby d’Italia is always a blockbuster, and Saturday’s clash should be no different. I’ve summarised some of the key talking points and picked out a couple of angles I think offer real value.

Club legend Cristian Chivu has stepped into the Inter hot seat, despite arriving with just 13 senior games of managerial experience to his name.
Juventus are yet to concede a goal this season, winning their opening matches 2-0 and 1-0.
Inter opened their season with a 5-0 rout, but lost the following match, affording Juventus the opportunity to go six points clear of Inter at this early stage.

🔵 Marotta’s Gamble Yet to Win Inter Fans Over
It always looked like a tall order for Cristian Chiuvu, whose professional career as a coach had spanned just 13 matches before Inter handed him the reins.
Giuseppe Marotta, the Inter CEO, was on the receiving end of a barrage of criticism for the appointment, with many Inter fans feeling it was too early to call on the club legend. A 5-0 hammering of Torino on opening day briefly quietened the noise, but the defeat to Udinese quickly brought the doubts back to the surface.
Tactically speaking, the most striking feature of Chiuvu’s setup has been his aggressive high line. It’s a bold move, and one which could pay off, although Juventus’ strength in transition suggests to me that the Bianconeri could find joy in punishing that space on the counter, to the detriment of Inter.
⚫ Defensive Discipline Fuels Fast Start For Juventus
Juventus have shown comparatively more consistency, winning both of their opening two matches, and comfortably so.
They’re yet to concede a goal, and truth be told, they’ve rarely looked like doing so. This is a side that looks incredibly well-drilled defensively, and I’d expect them to give very little away over the course of the season, although their lack of midfield depth could become a stumbling block.
The numbers back that up, too, with the Bianconeri generating 4.29xG while allowing just 1.17xGa at the other end across those first two outings.
📊 Juventus v Inter Milan H2H
These two giants have served up some fascinating battles of late. Their most recent clash came in Turin back in February, where Juventus snatched a 1-0 victory despite Inter enjoying 58% of possession, and accumulating 0.7xG more than the hosts.
Earlier in the season, it was chaos at the San Siro as the spoils were shared in a remarkable 4-4 draw. On that occasion, Inter were awarded two penalties, both of which they converted.
Looking further back, there’s been little to choose between them. Across the last seven meetings, the record reads three draws, with each side claiming two wins apiece.
