🎯 James Wade to Win
📈 Odds: 1.73
There is no luckier man to be left in this competition than Cameron Menzies, so much so that he hilariously changed his profile picture on X to that of Danny Noppert, who did him a favour in beating Martin Schindler 5-2. Had the German won an additional leg it would be him who advanced and not Cammy. I think the fact he’s still in the field probably owes more to good luck.
That luck could run out here as he faces a man who has reached the final on three occasions previously in this event and lost in the Semi-Final last year to eventual champion Luke Humphries, that man being ‘The Machine’ James Wade.
Wade came through the group courtesy of wins over Luke Humphries and Rowby-John Rodriguez and looked on top against Mickey Mansell in his opening match loss until Mansell closed out the game emphatically.
Menzies came into this in good form but he’s not played overly well in his last two games and was thumped 5-1 by Beau Greaves in his final group encounter. Wade as usual has been ‘Wading’, doing enough and taking his tally to twelve wins in his last thirteen matches.
One of his defeats in those games did come against Menzies but Wade is the much more accustomed player to these longer format matches and has the experience to get over the line here and take advantage of a less-than-impressive Menzies.
