Livingston Double Chance

Livingston have long had a reputation as a tough nut to crack under the astute management of David Martindale. The Lions finished last season like the proverbial steam train to secure promotion back to the Scottish Premiership at the first time of asking, deservedly defeating Ross County 5-3 on aggregate in the play-off final.

With momentum behind them, Livingston look well worthy of support to avoid defeat here at 1.8, especially given Kilmarnock's huge turnover of players over the summer.

Over 0.5 Livingston Goals

Having scored in 12 of their last 14 matches across all competitions, Livingston look too big to ignore to score at least once on Wednesday night at 1.44.

Kilmarnock are a bit of an unknown quantity under new boss Stuart Kettlewell and their influx of new signings may take time to gel, something Livingston will surely be looking to capitalise on.

  • Livingston conceded a league-low 27 goals across their 36 games of the regular campaign last season

  • There have been Under 2.5 Goals in three of the last four meetings between the two teams

  • Three of the last four meetings between these sides have been BTTS No

Kilmarnock and Livingston will lock horns in the Scottish League Cup on Wednesday night. Both sides hit the ground running in Group H on Saturday, with Kilmarnock winning 2-0 away at Brora Rangers, while Livingston earned a 2-1 win at East Fife.

Given that they are the top seeds in Group H, Kilmarnock are understandably 1.91 favourites here, with Livingston 3.75 outsiders, while the draw is 3.3. There looks to be some good value in backing Livingston to avoid defeat at 1.8.

As for the Over/Under 2.5 goals line, the odds suggest that a cagey cup tie could be on the cards, with unders favoured at 1.8.

🔵 Killie Kicking Off New Era

Kilmarnock come into the new season under new management, with Stuart Kettlewell the man drafted in to replace Derek McInnes. The former Motherwell boss arrives at Rugby Park with the club entering a period of transition.

The Ayrshire outfit have been hit by a number of key departures over the summer, though new boss Kettlewell has been busy stamping his authority on the squad as he looks to start moulding a group which fits his style.

Rugby Park has been somewhat of a fortress for Kilmarnock over the last few seasons, with Killie collecting 32 of their 44 Scottish Premiership points in front of their own supporters last term.

🟡 Livingston Still On Cloud Nine

Having secured promotion back to the Scottish Premiership at the first attempt last season, Livingston are riding a crest of a wave at the moment.

While manager David Martindale has been active in the summer transfer window, he has retained the core set of players that fired the Lions to promotion. Their success last term was built on a solid foundation, with Livi conceding a league-low 27 goals across their 36 games of the regular campaign.

📊 Kilmarnock v Livingston H2H

While Kilmarnock and Livingston have become somewhat familiar foes over the past few seasons, they didn’t cross paths at all last term due to being in separate divisions.

The season prior to that, Kilmarnock claimed top honours from two of the three meetings between the pair, with the other encounter ending goalless. It's also worth noting that Killie have triumphed in each of their last three home games with Livingston. However, I think Livingston can be competitive in this match.
