Bodo/Glimt to Win

The next two games are absolutely massive for Bodo/Glimt. Should they beat Fredrikstad here and then league leaders Viking at the weekend they would move just seven points off the top of the table. They’d still have three games in hand so their championship destiny would be in their own hands.

Glimt have dropped some silly points this season but their focus and quality should shine through here. Taking the away side to win the game at odds of 1.60 looks a solid bet. They are by far the best team in the overall metrics chart with the second best xG and best xGA.

They face a Fredrikstad side who have only won one of their last seven games.

Kasper Hogh to Score Anytime

Once again, it is worth going back to the well by backing Bodo/Glimt’s top striker Kasper Hogh to score anytime. He’s been in brilliant form this season scoring nine goals in 12 Eliteserien matches.

He went two matches without scoring but bounced back at the weekend by netting from the penalty spot. He looks to have wrestled penalty taking duty back which is another reason to back him. Hogh had an incredible three goals ruled out by VAR in the first half against Sandefjord and is getting into some great positions.

Odds of 2.40 to score are simply far too generous to ignore.

  • Fredrikstad ended a six game winless run by coming from behind to beat Molde 4-2 at the weekend.

  • Fredrikstad have the fourth best home record in the league with five wins from eight matches.

  • Kasper Hogh has been in great form scoring nine goals in 12 Eliteserien matches

Bodo Glimt have four games in hand over league leaders Viking and this is the first of them. They travel to Fredrikstad as the 1.60 favourites, with the draw priced at 4.20 and Fredrikstad the underdogs at 5.50.

Bodo/Glimt have great underlying metrics this season, with the 2nd best average xG per game (2.0) and best xGA (0.91) in the division. I fancy them to win here.

Comeback Win For Fredrikstad Last Time Out

Fredrikstad were not in great form, failing to win in six straight games. They trailed Molde 0-2 with eight minutes remaining at the weekend - and somehow managed to win 4-2.

It was a bonkers match which contained two own goals and a barrage of late drama. Fredrikstad won the xG battle 2.52 to 1.20, but their defence has been vulnerable recently, conceding 14 goals in their last seven games. Fredrikstad have an average xG per game of just 1.33, which is the sixth worst record of any team in the league.

🟡 Bodo/Glimt Back To Winning Ways

Bodo/Glimt have been in a mixed run of form. They shockingly lost at home to Sarpsborg (1-2) and then conceded with the last kick of the game v Kristiansund (1-1). They then had to endure a frustrating first half against Sandefjord on Saturday, having an incredible three goals disallowed before the interval.

Glimt eventually found a way to win the match 2-0 and totally dominated the contest, with 24 shots to four and xG metrics of 3.03 vs 0.07.

Their underlying metrics are still very encouraging, having the second best average xG per game in the Eliteserien (2.0). They also have the best average xGA (0.91) and are the only team to average less than 1 goal against per game in this metric.

📊 Fredrikstad v Bodo/Glimt H2H

This was the opening day fixture last season and Bodo/Glimt won 2-- although it was a grinding sort of victory.

The other match last year resulted in a 2-2 draw in early November, as Fredrikstad scored a late equaliser to rescue a point. The two teams had not met previously until as far back as 2017, when Bodo/Glimt claimed a league double.
