Fact To File to Win @ 3.50

FACT TO FILE aims to give legendary owner, J P McManus a first winner in the famous race. The eight-year-old Poliglate gelding has a fine chase record of five wins from 10 attempts, with four successes in Grade One company.

He also impressively won the G1 Ryanair Chase by nine lengths at this year’s Cheltenham Festival. Narrowly denied by the reopposing stablemate, Gaelic Warrior, at Punchestown on seasonal reappearance, I expect him to reverse form.

The Kempton spectacle could be run to suit those coming off the pace, with at least three or four contenders, who like to race prominently – Gaelic Warrior, Il Est Francais, The Jukebox Man and Croke Park. Fact To File has the credentials to come with a late winning run, especially if any of the forecast rain arrives.

The Jukebox Man E/W @ 7.00

If THE JUKEBOX MAN’S jockey wisely sits in just behind the likely strong pace, I can see him being one of the underrated runners in the race. The unexposed Ben Pauling-trained chaser made it 3-3 over fences, with an impressive success on seasonal return at Haydock.

He beat subsequent Ascot scorer Iroko that day, and he is on a sharp upward trajectory. He won the G1 Kauto Star Novices’ Chase over track and trip last term, and has the right blend of speed and stamina to be strongly suited to this race.

Djelo E/W @ 13.00

Although he has yet to be fully tested at the top level, DJELO has the chance to show how good he could potentially be over fences. With a couple of inexperienced runners ahead of him in the betting, I think it's worth a saver on Djelo at big odds.

The son of Montmartre has a strong 7-15 record over fences and is a sound jumper. He has largely been pigeon-holed as a Grade Two performer, but could easily have the race set up to suit here. With that in mind, I believe he shouldn't be underestimated for a minor placing – especially arriving after a facile G2 Peterborough Chase success.
