Plymouth Argyle v Sheffield Wednesday
🏟
Tuesday 4th October – 7:45PM KO
Sheffield Wednesday face the unenviable midweek trip to Plymouth Argyle in League One on Tuesday, hoping to make it three wins on the bounce under Darren Moore. Steven Schumacher’s mightily impressive hosts built on their 2-1 win over Ipswich Town with a 1-0 victory at Wycombe Wanderers on their travels at the weekend, in a match where they certainly rode their luck defensively.
Wednesday had to grind it out 1-0 at Port Vale, in a match where the hosts were left disappointed not to have taken anything out of the game. Argyle have been devastating at home so far this term, taking maximum points so far at Home Park and conceding just one goal in the process.
The Owls are very well set-up in terms of the depth of their squad, to deal with the quick turnaround and that could give them a slight edge upon arrival in Devon. George Byers is a doubt and Mark McGuinnes remains sidelined alongside long term absentee Akin Famewo, but Moore still has the players to cope.
Argyle kept a clean sheet at Wycombe despite allowing chances equating to well over 3 expected goals, a process that will need to improve if they are to yield another positive result.
