Ismaily’s average of 1.43 fouls committed per 90 implies plenty of value against Dortmund who have proved themselves to be effective foul-winning opposition.

The veteran full back has struggled for regular games this season, with the bulk of his performances coming off the bench. That includes three of his last six appearances, but despite that, the Brazilian has sinned in all bar one.

He’s set to come up against Adeyemi, who could cause him significant trouble with his pace and skill. The winger has averaged 1.25 fouls drawn per 90 in the Bundesliga this season.

Another player who merits intrigue in the fouls market is Julian Ryerson who boasts an identical average of 1.43 fouls per 90 – the 2nd-most of any expected Dortmund starter.

The right back has sinned at least once in each of his last four games, notably including slipping up twice in the reverse fixture against Lille. This was in keeping with his troublesome record in the Champions League, where he has committed at least one foul in eight of his nine starts.

His most direct opponent is expected to be Haraldsson, Lille’s most fouled player, averaging 1.59 drawn per 90.

Dortmund have averaged 5.68 corners per match in the Bundesliga to date, with this figure rising even higher to 6.00 when considering their matches in the Champions League.

Niko Kovac’s men racked up five corners when they hosted Lille a week ago, which shouldn’t come as a surprise given their impressive record in the market. Dortmund have taken at least five corners in 14 out of their last 15 matches across all competitions.

Additionally, Lille aren’t particularly astute at preventing them; they’ve averaged 4.40 conceded per game in Ligue 1 and significantly as many as 5.78 in the Champions League. They’ve conceded at least four in five of their last six games.

The last leg, taking place in Germany, was a cagey 1-1 draw, which produced minimal opportunities for either side to capitalise on. Lille, nonetheless, seemed the better of the pair, accumulating 0.88 xG to Dortmund’s 0.27 and scoring the only big chance of the game.

Lille have boasted an exceptional home record in the Champions League to date, winning five of the six they’ve hosted, including a win against Real Madrid, and drawing the remainder – a clash with Juventus.

On the other hand, Dortmund have been unable to settle into a rhythm this season, and followed up their draw against Lille with a loss to Augsburg. They’ve now been defeated in seven of their last 15, managing just five wins over the period.

Adeyemi should offer some attacking threat for the visitors and if we’re to expect a slightly more open game compared to last week, the shots market is definitely an intriguing one to look at.

The winger got onto the scoresheet in the reverse fixture and fired off two shots despite Dortmund as a whole managing just seven. Across all competitions, he’s averaged 2.85 shots per 90, with this rising to 3.15 in the UCL.

This selection has been a winner in six of his last eight appearances; meanwhile, Adeyemi has managed to take 19 shots across his last five games.

Although at first sight, Ismaily’s big price might seem somewhat justified given he’s only averaged 0.78 fouls drawn per 90, evens seems far too generous, particularly when considering his cameo in the reverse fixture.

The full back put in an energetic display, which ultimately resulted in him drawing two fouls.

His aforementioned matchup with Adeyemi could bear fruit for this selection, given the winger is Dortmund’s most prolific sinner, averaging 1.64 fouls per 90. This figure further augments to 2.41 across his seven Champions League appearances this season.

There’s little reason to suggest Lille should be favoured in the corner market, and this could reflect a mistake on the bookies’ part.

Dortmund have averaged 5.78 corners per 90 across all competitions, managing 6.00 in the Champions League. By comparison, Lille have averaged just 4.62 and 3.67, respectively.

The French outfit also concede more corners than Dortmund on average, allowing their opposition 4.40 in Ligue 1 and 5.78 in the UCL, compared to Dortmund’s 3.96 and 3.91.

This was reflected in the reverse leg, which saw Dortmund comfortably come out on top in the corner battle, which finished 5-1.

It was the 13th time across their last 14 that Dortmund had managed to win at least five corners before they repeated the feat once more in their most recent outing to Augsburg, winning 12 on that occasion.
