Level 1 Bet Builder Tip
🛑 Andre Gomes to Commit 2+ Fouls
📈 Odds: 1.25
Andre Gomes has committed far more fouls per 90 minutes than any other Lille player who has featured for 100 minutes or more in Ligue 1 this season, with the Portuguese posting 2.50 in this regard.
Prior to last weekend’s trip to Lens, where he was surprisingly blemish free on the foul count, he had committed at least two fouls in each of his previous three outings, including four against Le Havre. Has committed at least two fouls in each of his two previous home games.
Gomes is liable to play a vast majority of the game because Lille are juggling injury issues in the midfield plus a heavy fixture list. He is not registered to play in the Champions League, so he will not be available in midweek, therefore, we can instead expect to see the former Everton man feature heavily here.
He will be up against Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso, who wins 2.77 fouls per 90.
🎯 Alexandre Lacazette to have 1+ Shots on Target
📈 Odds: 1.30
Lacazette is having a strangely subdued season in terms of goals, but that has not prevented him from posting a notable volume of shots on target.
Lacazette has worked the goalkeeper in each of the three away matches he has started this season and has at least two shots on target and one goal in each of his last couple of road trips.
There are signs that his overall level is lifting. He only managed five shots on target in his first six appearances this season but across his last five, this has risen to seven.
Lacazette may be Lyon’s only fit centre-forward for this game, Georges Mikautadze has been ill this week and will be given a role on the bench at best, while Gift Orban was not even involved in the squad last weekend. In addition, Lille are decimated defensively and he is a player capable of profiting.
🎯 Edon Zhegrova to have 1+ Shots on Target
📈 Odds: 1.40
Zhegrova is coming into form, with four of his five shots on target in Ligue 1 this season coming in his last five outings. He also had efforts on target in two of the three games he played against OL last term across the league and cup.
Lille are now channelling a good deal of their attacking focus through the winger and striker Jonathan David. Zhegrova typically touches the ball 31.5 times per 90 in the attacking third, which is more than any other regular in Bruno Genesio’s side. In other words, he is likely to get lots of the ball in advanced areas and have opportunities to shoot.
Lyon concede 23% of their shots from the left side of their defence, which is higher than any other Ligue 1 club with the exception of Marseille. This is the area that Zhegrova will likely primarily be stationed in.
🎯 Lyon to have 5+ Shots on Target
📈 Odds: 1.73
Lyon are averaging precisely 5.0 shots on target through their nine Ligue 1 matches this season, but this is not actually reflecting the typical volume of shots they are getting away in most games. This figure is dramatically dragged down by the fact they had only one shot on target in their first two matches of the season, when they struggled for form.
Lyon have managed at least six shots on target in seven of their last eight games, including each of the last five.
Lille have given up at least five shots on target in seven of their last 11 matches and in three of the other games they conceded four shots on target, which is their average in Ligue 1 this season.

Level 2 Bet Builder Tip
🚀 Lyon Double Chance
📈 Odds: 1.67
Lille’s recent form is flattering to them. Although they have won five of their last seven, they have only posted a higher xG than their opponents in three of these fixtures, which they have also been disproportionately reliant on penalties for their most important goals. Against Strasbourg, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and Lens, they needed a spot kick for a vital goal.
Lyon’s form is strong, they have lost only two of their last 10 games and just one of their previous seven.
OL’s xG over the course of their recent matches has been excellent. They have generated at least 2.0 in each of their last five and have outscored their opponents in this regard in nine of their 12 competitive games.
Lyon’s head-to-head record against Lille is excellent. They won 4-3 away from home in May while they have suffered only one defeat in their last six against LOSC.
🟨 Over 4.5 Cards
📈 Odds: 2.40
Both Lille and Lyon have a recent habit of being involved in games during which there have been a high card count in recent fixtures. Indeed, LOSC have picked up 23 cards across their nine matches, all of which have been yellows. Only Montpellier have been cautioned more.
Lille’s card count in recent weeks has been particularly high. They have received five cards alone in each of their last two Ligue 1 outings and before that picked up three against Toulouse. Every single one of last LOSC’s last five matches have seen at least five cards.
Lyon’s games this season have generally posted a high card count. While three of their last five have seen at least five cards, one of the others during this sequence had four and the other had three. Nine of their 12 matches have seen at least four cards.
🥅 Over 2.5 Goals
📈 Odds: 1.60
Historically, Lille and Lyon games have been high-scoring affairs, though few have been as exciting as Lyon’s 4-3 win in France’s north in May. The was the fourth time in the last five encounters between these clubs that there have been at least three goals and the third time in those fixtures there had been at least four strikes.
Four of OL’s last six games have produced at least three goals, with half of these fixtures yielding at least four goals – including each of their last two Ligue 1 matches. Four of their five away games this season have brought at least 2.5 goals.
High number of goals looks sustainable for Lyon. Only three of their 12 fixtures have produced a total xG of below 2.5 this season.
Lille’s last three home Ligue 1 games have produced at least three goals, with Genesio’s side conceding three goals in two of these.
🚀 Corentin Tolisso to have 1+ Shots
📈 Odds: 1.17
Although playing in midfield, Tolisso posts the second highest number of shots for Lyon in Ligue 1 this season with 12 – tied with centre-forward Alexandre Lacazette, in spite of having fewer minutes.
Tolisso has 2.55 shots per 90 in Ligue 1. In the eight starts he has made across all competitions, he has had at least one shot at goal in each of these. Only twice as he failed to have at least two shots.
He posted an astonishing six shots, including a couple on target, against Besiktas when used in the Europa League clash a week ago. That was his last outing. In the only match he played against Lille when starting in his usual central midfield role, he had one shot.
Across his career, Tolisso averages 1.99 shots per 90 when playing in league football.
