Leicester v Liverpool
Kick Off: Sunday 20th April at 16:30
Leicester are waiting for the season to end after a dismal campaign which sees them sit second from bottom of the pile in the Premier League, only relieved from the embarrassment of bottom place by a Southampton side who could end up posting the worst points total in the history of the Premier League. Their 2-2 draw against Brighton last time out brought an end to a nine-game run of losses, which has cemented their relegation to the Championship next term.
Liverpool are only waiting for the confirmation of the title of Premier League champions in Arne Slot’s first season at the helm. The Reds wrapped up the title a while ago with Arsenal failing to provide any real opposition to the Merseyside outfit on their march to only their second Premier League title in the club's history. Liverpool’s level of performance has dropped off in the second half of the campaign, but they should have far too much here for a fragile Leicester side.
⭐ Leicester v Liverpool Best Bet
Leicester have failed to make the King Power a fortress this season, especially under Ruud Van Nistelrooy. Only Ipswich (7) and Southampton (5) have amassed fewer points at home than Leicester (9) in the Premier League this season. What will be particularly alarming for the Leicester head coach is the fact that the Foxes have shipped 33 goals at home across their 16 games in the Premier League this term (2.06 per game).
Liverpool boast the best away record in the Premier League this season, winning 10 of their 16 games on the road and scoring 40 goals in the process. The Foxes should struggle to contain Liverpool’s scoring power as they did in the initial meeting between the sides which saw this selection land as Liverpool ran out 3-1 winners. The gap between the promoted sides and established teams in the Premier League is bigger than ever and has materialised in multiple games this season as evidenced by Leicester’s recent awful record.
This selection landed in seven of the nine games Leicester lost in their recent winless run. The exceptions came against Chelsea and Manchester United, neither of which have the scoring power of Liverpool. Winning should be a formality for Liverpool this season given the immense disparity between these sides in multiple metrics and they should do so convincingly as these final few games act as a victory lap for the Premier League champions in waiting.

🔍 Leicester v Liverpool Players to Watch
🔵 Wilfred Ndidi
Ndidi has been deployed in a partnership with Soumare since Ruud Van Nistelrooy took over. The pair have struggled in the middle of the park, often being left isolated with the Foxes committing too many players in attacking areas. This frustration is evident in Ndidi’s foul record this season, he’s committed 34 fouls across his 23 Premier League appearances this term (1.61 per 90).
Ndidi didn’t feature in the initial meeting between the sides, but both Winks and Soumare committed a foul at Anfield, and it’s likely that Ndidi is tested early on here, up against Dominik Szoboszlai, who is averaging 0.89 fouls won per 90 in the Premier League this season.
🔴 Mo Salah
Salah has enjoyed a fantastic individual season, scoring 27 goals across his 32 appearances in the Premier League. He’s slowed down a little in the second half of the campaign but he isn’t the only one in the Liverpool squad to drop off the pace in the latter stages of the campaign with Liverpool having licence to do so after building up such a dominant lead in the early stages of the season.
Salah scored in the initial meeting between these sides at Anfield earlier in the season and has scored against each of the promoted sides this season, accounting for six goals in his total tally.
