Leicester v Newcastle
Kick Off: Monday 7th April at 20:00
Leicester will be hoping for a change in fortunes when they host Newcastle on Monday night. The Foxes have lost their last seven Premier League matches, failing to score in any of these games and with fresh rumours of discontent in the dressing room, it looks to be a long last eight games of the season for Ruud Van Nistelrooy.
The picture is very different for the visiting side, Newcastle followed up their historic Carabao Cup victory with a 2-1 win over Brentford at home thanks to a rocket of a strike from Sandro Tonali. Newcastle fired four past Leicester in the initial meeting between these sides, and a similarly ugly result could be on the cards again here given how poor Leicester have been this term.
⭐ Leicester v Newcastle Best Bet
Newcastle should have far too much quality and class for this Leicester outfit. Ruud Van Nistelrooy tallied some points in his first couple of matches, but that initial bump soon petered out. They have the third-worst xGA in the league (34.83) and Newcastle are capable of tearing them apart here.
Leicester have failed to score in their last seven home league matches, they've also conceded a huge 18 goals over this timeframe (2.5 goals conceded per home match). This selection has won in all of these matches, too.
Newcastle have won their last three in all competitions and saw off Leicester with ease in the reverse fixture with a 4-0 win.

🔍 Leicester v Newcastle Players to Watch
🔵 Mads Hermansen
Mads Hermansen is probably the only reason why Leicester aren’t in the same state as Southampton. The keeper is clearly playing at a level below his potential and is likely to get a move in the summer to stay in the top flight. He made four saves in the initial meeting between the sides in the first half alone before he had to be substituted due to injury.
He’s averaging 3.87 saves per 90 in the Premier League this season whilst maintaining a save average of 64%, which is more than respectable considering that he is playing for a side that have little to no defensive organisation.
Newcastle had 11 shots on target in the initial meeting between the sides, this unrelenting pressure on the Leicester backline should come to the fore again here.
⚫ Alexander Isak
Isak is having a stellar season for Newcastle, scoring 24 goals across his 34 appearances in all competitions. 20 of these goals have come in the Premier League, making him the Premier League’s third top goalscorer, only behind Mohamed Salah (27) and Erling Haaland (21).
Isak is on penalties for Newcastle, which can offer him another avenue to goal as well as scoring and providing an assist in Newcastle’s 4-0 win over Leicester earlier in the season. Isak had three shots on target on that occasion and will be just as big of a threat here.
Leicester have kept just one clean sheet in the league this season, the worst record in the division.
