I’m hoping to follow-up yesterday’s 12/1 winner (Emperor Spirit) at Newmarket’s July course. With the front two in the betting taking plenty of market support - I’m hoping it’ll be a near ‘Miss’ for them both. BOUNTIFUL appeals at an each-way price. The Zoustar filly ran 4th in Group Two here last term and finished 3rd in Listed company on reappearance. She ran midfield on handicap debut at Royal Ascot and ought to appreciate this class drop, as well as a 2lb lower rating.

AKKADIAN THUNDER has been a frustrating runner to me over the past two seasons. He has turned the corner this season, winning at Doncaster for this column, prior to an outstanding 2nd in a Royal Ascot handicap. Whilst in such honest form, it would be sensible to suggest another positive performance. Run Boy Run and Ten Pounds also caught my eye at bigger prices.

I’m taking a risk with avoiding Bedouin Prince, here, considering he could be a well-handicapped type, despite an opening mark of 100. At the prices, RAAFEDD appeals after a luckless handicap debut run at Royal Ascot. He was strong in the market that day, seemingly ahead of his mark, so he must be taken seriously this afternoon.

I can certainly imagine plenty of things that happen in Vegas, but all I’m concerned with today is that WHATHAPPENSINVEGAS scores in the concluding race. The New Bay four-year-old has dropped back to a winning handicap mark and has a superb jockey booking - William Buick has lit-up Newmarket this week, with six winners.
