Sunday’s 13/1 NFL Touchdown Treble Tips
Sam LaPorta, Anytime Touchdown
🏈
Game: Detroit Lions @ Chicago Bears
⏰
Kick Off: 18:00
📈
Odds: 2.40
The only players in Lions history to log 125+ receptions & 15+ TDs through two-career seasons are Calvin Johnson and now Sam LaPorta. While he started the season slow, he’s looked much more involved in all parts of the gameplan including the red zone. While he didn’t score for the first 4 weeks of the season, he’s scored 5 times over the last 9 weeks including a two-touchdown game against the Bears.
He now faces the Bears once again, who have struggled to contain opposing tight ends. After all these injuries the Lions will want to make a statement, and I think we see them have another high-scoring affair with LaPorta highly involved.
One of the biggest factors here is the injury to David Montgomery. While they still have Gibbs healthy (and priced at -300 to score) this now takes away a significant part of the Lions’ offense. Montgomery has scored 12 rushing touchdowns on the season, and while Gibbs will still get his chances this opens up a lot of opportunities.
Losing their big bruising goal-line back for Craig Reynolds leads me to believe we see more passing in the red zone, especially with Campbell saying they didn’t want to overwork Gibbs. LaPorta is a huge target and someone I expect to be very involved against their division rival.
Davante Adams, Anytime Touchdown
🏈
Game: Los Angeles Rams @ New York Jets
⏰
Kick Off: 18:00
📈
Odds: 2.30
I think the market is undervaluing the state of the Jets’ offense right now. Aaron Rodgers has looked much more mobile in recent weeks and appears to be back at 100% after playing through injuries earlier in the season. In addition, the Jets’ defence has really struggled since the firing of Robert Salah. Before they slowed the game down, but with a weaker defense we should see plenty of scoring opportunities on both sides.
Looking at the odds, I’m surprised Breece Hall is priced as the most likely touchdown scorer. He’s been dealing with injuries all year, and the running back touches have been very split. They are incorporating backups like Isaiah Davis and Breece Hall only had 9 total carries. They have been much more pass-heavy over their last 2 games, resulting in 289 and 339 passing yards with 4 touchdowns for Aaron Rodgers.
Davante Adams is coming in with momentum, scoring 2 touchdowns last game and 4 over his last 3. While he’s been dealing with injuries of his own, he’s finally fully off the injury report. He’s averaging 8 targets per game over his last 5 and I like buying on this passing offense. Adams and Rodgers have fantastic chemistry and I love getting this at plus odds against a weak Rams secondary.

AJ Brown, Anytime Touchdown
🏈
Game: Philadelphia Eagles @ Washington Commanders
⏰
Kick Off: 18:00
📈
Odds: 2.20
In a divisional rivalry game with serious playoff implications, I’m expecting plenty of scoring from both sides. While AJ Brown might not be having the dominant red zone season some people expected, this profiles as a fantastic matchup. While he had 3 touchdowns in a row to start the season, he went on a bit of a drought until recently.
After some public disagreements about not getting enough targets, we saw him find the end zone once again. He is one of the rare guys who will command both the 50/50 red zone jump balls plus a majority of the team’s deep targets. His huge frame and speed combination makes him one of the best weapons in the NFL, and especially deadly in the red zone.
Washington will likely do everything in their power to limit Saquon Barkley. It’s no secret how important he is to their offense, and Washington will likely be stacking the box as much as possible to avoid another 150-yard performance. When you have to stack the box that much you are sacrificing safety help, and that’s where Brown can take advantage.
With the acquisition of Marshon Lattimore, Washington should feel more comfortable with single coverage on the outside. Considering how much man coverage and single high safety coverage they have been running over the last couple weeks I think that’s what they go with here. Over the last three years, AJ Brown rates out as the best player in the NFL in yards per route run against these coverages.
