Specialist in Scandinavian & European soccer. I have been in the betting game for nearly 20 years now with a summer focus on the Norwegian & Swedish leagues. With an in-depth knowledge of the region & teams I have been involved in a specialist podcast & more for close to a decade. My favourite types of bets are attacking the goal lines and identifying the tactics & style of each team & manager who can contribute positively. Outside of betting I was once a Sunday League goalkeeper myself. But my boots are now retired and instead prefer to hit up the cricket pitch and golf course in my spare time.

The Norwegian Eliteserien is back in action on Sunday, and our expert has crafted a 5/1 accumulator for the slate of fixtures - a £10 bet returns £58.30 if the four-fold lands.

Sunday's Norwegian Eliteserien Accumulator Tips

Fixtures for: Sunday 1st June

Fredrikstad v Sarpsborg

13:30

Sarpsborg Double Chance

Fredrikstad only lost twice at home last season and had previously gone 100% in four home games this term before they lost to Rosenborg 0-2 in midweek. It was a tired performance from Fredrikstad who have played a lot of matches recently. They don’t have the biggest squad and this might be a good time to face them. They’ve played four matches since 16th May and games are catching up with them.

They face an inconsistent Sarpsborg side but one which has only lost twice all season and remain unbeaten away. Sarpsborg have travelled to the likes of Brann, Molde and Viking without suffering defeat and they look overpriced on the double chance market. Their counter attacking approach suits away matches more anyway, but considering they’ve had a full week to prepare it gives them an extra edge against a potentially tired Fredrikstad.

Bryne v Sandefjord

16:00

Over 2.5 Goals

Newly promoted Bryne have suddenly found some form with two consecutive Eliteserien wins. Things looked bleak for them after five defeats in their first six games but victories v Godset (2-0) and Fredrikstad (4-3) have surprised everyone. Their key man this season has been striker Duarte Moreira who has scored four goals and supplied two assists. In total, six of their last seven Eliteserien games have gone over 2.5 goals.

They face a Sandefjord side who have been one of the big surprises of the season. They are as high as 5th in the table after winning five out of eight games. This is the best start to a season that Sandefjord have had in years and possibly the best equipped squad they’ve ever had at this level of football. Top scorer Stefan Ingi Sigurdarson remains suspended but they coped fine without him last weekend when they beat Godset 3-2. Over 2.5 goals looks like a good bet here, especially since six of the eight Sandefjord fixtures have gone over that mark this season.

Brann v Kristiansund

16:00

Over 2.5 Goals

Brann suffered a surprise 0-3 loss at home to Molde in midweek. It was one of those games where they missed all of their chances and faced a team who were clinical. Brann outgunned Molde on the xG 2.07 to 0.58 and outshot them 19 to four. Of course, they showed some defensive deficiencies, but on another day it’s a match they would have won.

Brann are the clear favourites to prevail here, but must be careful against a Kristiansund side who enjoy being underdogs and have the 3rd best away record in the Eliteserien. They beat the likes of Molde, Stromsgodset and Tromso on the road and would love to add another feather to that cap. Kristiansund have only kept one clean sheet all season which makes the 1-0 win at Molde a bit of an outlier result. Eight out of 10 Brann games have gone over 2.5 goals this season and that trend should continue.

Molde v Viking

18:15

Over 2.5 Goals

Both sides obtained important victories in midweek for different reasons. Viking came from 1-2 down to beat defending champions Bodo/Glimt 4-2, they are now currently five points clear at the top of the Eliteserien table. Viking have played an extra game compared to everyone else but eight wins from 11 matches is very impressive. They are the highest scoring team in the league with a huge 33 goals, although have only kept two clean sheets. They head into this match off the back of four straight away wins.

Molde claimed a surprise 3-0 victory away to Brann. They rode their luck conceding an xGA of over two but somehow managed to preserve a clean sheet. The main positive for Molde was the return to scoring of striker Fredrik Gulbrandsen who is an excellent striker, often injury plagued. However, Mads Enggard and Veton Berisha are both suspended after getting sent off in the previous game. Goals usually flow when these two teams meet and recent trends are supporting a high scoring match. Four of the last five Molde fixtures and three of the last four Viking games have gone over 2.5 goals.
