Specialist in Scandinavian & European soccer. I have been in the betting game for nearly 20 years now with a summer focus on the Norwegian & Swedish leagues. With an in-depth knowledge of the region & teams I have been involved in a specialist podcast & more for close to a decade. My favourite types of bets are attacking the goal lines and identifying the tactics & style of each team & manager who can contribute positively. Outside of betting I was once a Sunday League goalkeeper myself. But my boots are now retired and instead prefer to hit up the cricket pitch and golf course in my spare time.

The Norwegian Eliteserien is back in action on Sunday, and our expert has crafted a 4/1 accumulator for the slate of fixtures - a £10 bet returns £45 if the four-fold lands.

4 Selections @ 4.57

Valerenga v Haugesund

Norwegian Eliteserien

14:30

Valerenga to Win

There is quite a bit of pressure on Valerenga to claim an easy win against rock bottom Haugesund, but they should get the job done. Valerenga are down in 12th place with only two wins in nine games, but Haugesund are so poor that it shouldn’t be problematic to get the win.

Valerenga have beaten the likes of Stromsgodset, KFUM Oslo and Kristiansund and tend to have a good record against the poorer teams. Haugesund are a terrible side, yet to win a game and suffered a huge 12 out of 14 defeats. They have scored the fewest and conceded the most goals and rank the worst in all the xG and xGA metrics. Haugesund are so bad and must be continually opposed.

Sandefjord v Kristiansund

Norwegian Eliteserien

17:00

Sandefjord to Win

Despite losing away to Bodo Glimt 2-0 last week, it’s been an excellent season for Sandefjord, especially at home, where they still have a 100% record. This is the best version of Sandefjord at Eliteserien level, perhaps ever, and they are residing as high as 7th in the table. They are on course for their best finishing position in years and riding a crest of momentum.

Sandefjord should comfortably see off Kristiansund and continue their fantastic home record. They’ve won six out of six at home with a 16:3 goal differential. Kristiansund travel here unbeaten in four straight games, but they have been riding their luck. They somehow held on for a 0-0 draw vs Sarpsborg last week despite being down to 10 men for nearly the entire game. Defender Marius Olsen is suspended for the visitors, which is a blow and further adds weight to a home victory.

Tromso v Bryne

Norwegian Eliteserien

17:00

Tromso to Win

Tromso are on an incredible run of eight consecutive wins and are just an automatic bet every week right now. They are not always convincing, but finding ways to win. Last week, they blew a 2-0 lead at Stromsgodset but scored with virtually the last kick of the game to eventually prevail 3-2.

They are up to third in the table and still have games in hand on those teams above them. Tromso have only conceded six times in their eight-game winning run, with three wins to nil in that period. They should be strong enough to beat the newly promoted Bryne. The away side are unbeaten in seven straight games, but Tromso should be showing their extra quality and class here. They have a squad in peak condition, and it looks like a good idea to keep backing them until this brilliant run ends.

Ham Kam v Fredrikstad

Norwegian Eliteserien

19:15

Ham-Kam Double Chance

Ham Kam are winless in four straight games, but this looks like a good situational spot to face Fredrikstad. The home team have recently endured a new manager change with former Everton goalkeeper Thomas Myhre taking charge. He’s drawn two and lost one match so far, but the last two games have been against two tough opponents, Brann and Rosenborg. They face a Fredrikstad side who have just one win in eight games.

They played as recently as Wednesday evening, where they suffered an agonising late 0-1 loss to Bodo Glimt. They were outshot 25 to 9 and had just 26% possession. They might not have much left in their tank here, and overall form is not that great. Ham Kam look like the most likely option and a solid bet in the draw double chance market.
