Specialist in Scandinavian & European soccer. I have been in the betting game for nearly 20 years now with a summer focus on the Norwegian & Swedish leagues. With an in-depth knowledge of the region & teams I have been involved in a specialist podcast & more for close to a decade. My favourite types of bets are attacking the goal lines and identifying the tactics & style of each team & manager who can contribute positively. Outside of betting I was once a Sunday League goalkeeper myself. But my boots are now retired and instead prefer to hit up the cricket pitch and golf course in my spare time.

The Norwegian Eliteserien is back in action on Sunday, and our expert has crafted a 2/1 accumulator for the slate of fixtures - a £10 bet returns £32 if the four-fold lands.

Sunday's Norwegian Eliteserien Accumulator Tips

Fixtures for: Sunday 4th May

Molde v Haugesund

15:00

Molde to Win

Molde are still searching for their first win of the season, but if they can’t beat Haugesund, then something is going badly wrong. They face an opponent who are winless and who have only scored two goals all season. Quite simply, Haugesund are perhaps the worst side in the Eliteserien right now and look devoid of anything. In midweek, they lost 1-5 away to Viking and played the entire second half with 10 men. They looked spent physically, and Molde can feast here.

It's been a poor start to the season for the home side, but their quality on paper mustn’t be forgotten. Despite not winning yet, Molde still have to be considered for a medal position and might get better as the season progresses. Grinding out a legitimate 0-0 draw away to Rosenborg was encouraging, and this is now a far easier game. Molde have incredibly beaten Haugesund in all of the last 16 head-to-head meetings, and taking them on the nose to win again here looks like the best bet.

Stromsgodset v Kristiansund

15:00

Stromsgodset to Win

Kristiansund could hardly believe their luck in midweek as they somehow managed to escape with a 1-1 draw away to Rosenborg. They played with 10 men for 85 minutes, so they did remarkably well to get a result. They hung on at 0-1 down and obtained a late penalty to nick a point. But they looked tired, battered, and you have to wonder how much they have left in the tank now after such a gruelling performance. This looks like a tough trip to a Godset side who should be buoyed by a 3-2 win at Sarpsborg last week.

It’s a real surprise that Stromsgodset have only kept one clean sheet so far this season. They have had some difficult fixtures, though, and you always know that they will be set up by manager Jorgen Isnes. Every time they have faced an inferior or similar level of opponent this season, they’ve won, so you’d expect them to take care of business here. Godset should be good enough to beat Kristiansund at home anyway, but with the situational spot also being favourable, then it makes total sense to back the home win.

Viking v Sarpsborg

15:00

Over 2.5 Goals

Every single Viking match has gone over 3.5 goals this season, and their fixtures are a hotbed for goals. This is down to a combination of style, tactics and quality of players they have available. Viking have a great talisman in Zlatko Tripic, who scored a hat trick at home to Haugesund in midweek. He’s a massive threat, and everything runs through him in the final third. They are well coached from set pieces, and the whole team is capable of chipping in with goals, even if they are lacking an in-form #9 type of striker right now.

This should be a total shootout facing a Sarpsborg side who definitely have goals in them as well. Daniel Karlsbakk and Sondre Orjasaeter have been in terrific form, but Sarpsborg are another team that rarely keep clean sheets. They lost 2-3 at home to Stromsgodset last weekend, which was a poor defensive performance. They can fight fire with fire here though, and a bonkers high-scoring game could be on the cards. Simply taking a straight over 2.5 goals looks like a great bet, but this could go significantly over the main goal line.

Rosenborg v Bryne

17:15

Rosenborg to Win

Bryne nearly shocked everyone last week when they were 2-0 up away to Brann, but they eventually lost 2-3 after a difficult second half. They showed plenty of fight and spirit, but ultimately, we know on paper this is a side that lacks Eliteserien quality. There is a big gulf in class here, and Rosenborg should be able to get the 3 points at home.

The hosts will be kicking themselves at failing to beat Kristiansund in midweek, a team they faced 10 men against for nearly the whole game. Rosenborg looked like winning 1-0 but succumbed to a late penalty and dropped two points with a 1-1 outcome. But they dominated in every aspect with the metrics, stats and performance. For the most part, they had full control of the game and just lacked a second goal. RBK remain unbeaten this season and are a strong side. They should be keen to bounce back after disappointment, and with night and day between the two sides, simply backing the home win looks like a good bet.
