Alexander Sorloth to Score Anytime

Erling Haaland is a little short for me (1.30) to back as an anytime scorer in this game, which is expected to be dominated by Norway. Sorloth represents a solid alternative who can look to extend his excellent record for his nation, against a Moldovan side that have conceded 14 goals across their four qualifying matches so far (3.5 per game).

Sorloth has netted 25 goals across his 64 caps for Norway which is a solid record, even if it will always exist in the shadow of Erling Haaland. Sorloth has scored three goals across his four appearances in World Cup qualifying so far, one of which came against Moldova, in Norway’s 5-0 win over the lowest ranked side in the group.

Over 3.5 Goals

I think Norway will be able to replicate their 5-0 win over Moldova here. They were totally dominant in the first meeting with 70% of the ball and 24 shots, eight of which found the target.

These numbers could be even more drastic now that Norway are the home side, a win here would put them in near total control of the group.

Moldova have seen 16 goals across their four qualifying matches so far (4.0 per game). They’ve conceded 14 of these goals so it is highly likely that Norway will cover this line on their own. Norway themselves have managed to score 13 goals across their four qualifying matches so far (3.25 per game).

🔴 Norway on The Edge of Qualification

Norway have made it their mission to ensure that they are at the World Cup next year, having missed out on the last two international tournaments. This means that should Norway qualify, Haaland will be playing in his first ever international tournament.

Norway have won all four of their qualifying matches so far. Their wins over Moldova and Estonia are to be expected, but a compressive win over Italy marked a notable change in the development of this Norwegian side.

Barring a real disaster, we should see Norway at the World Cup in America next summer.

🟡 Damage Limitation For Moldova

Moldova are another one of those nations that will never qualify from a group like this, which contains two sides that expect to be at the World Cup, in Italy and Norway.

They’re the lowest ranked side in the group (154th) and have lost all four of their matches so far, conceding 14 goals across these games and only scoring two.

Moldova’s last win came in their Nations League D group against Andorra. They ran out 1-0 winners on that occasion, topping a group that included Malta and Andorra, who are sides more in line with the level of quality they possess.

📊 Norway v Moldova H2H

Norway ran out 5-0 winners over Moldova when the sides met back in March, they were 4-0 up at the break, and there were five different scorers in the match - including Haaland and Sorloth.
