It was stormy conditions at the City Ground in the first leg, which made life difficult for the players, but chances were still available at both ends of the field. The hosts were the dominant side, recording 22 shots worth 1.72 xG, but they were unable to find the back of the net. Elias Olafsson was a key reason for that, as he finished with five saves to his name. 

Midtjylland managed six shots worth 0.69 xG in return, but those stats are a bit deceiving - the visitors had a shot cleared off the line by Murillo, then hit the crossbar, before Gue-Sing Cho eventually scored in the 80th minute, with an excellent header. 

The Danish side will once again have confidence here against Forest, especially considering they won 3-2 when the sides met in the league phase. Once again, it was an entertaining watch, with both sides able to carve out good chances.

The stats were eerily similar in that match, as Forest registered 22 shots (again), worth 2.05 xG, while Midtjylland managed eight shots worth 2.1 xG. Despite having far less possession, and less shots, they recorded a higher xG tally, which shows how they were able to create quality chances on the break. 

There were also 18 corners in that game, with 10 corners for Forest, and eight for Midtjylland. With Forest chasing the game here, we could get a similar outcome - Forest will have to be attack-minded in their approach, but that could play into the hands of Midtjylland, who have shown their class on the counter. 

Forest managed 10 corners in their last away outing in the Europa League, which was against Fenerbahce. They won that game 3-0, and will hope for a similar result in this one.

Elliot Anderson contributed two shots in that game against Fenerbahce, and he also saw plenty of involvement in the final third against Midtjylland in the first leg. The midfielder recorded three shots, and he came close to scoring - two of his efforts were on target, and the other was blocked. 

Once again, Anderson should be able to pick up some promising positions up the field, which bodes well for this selection. Especially if Midtjylland can keep Forest out, the game situation would lend itself towards the visitors having lots of shots. 

Anderson also recorded three shots against Midtjylland in the league phase, landing this selection comfortably, meaning he is averaging 2.37 shots per 90 in the Europa League. That figure is already significantly higher than his average of 1.42 shots per 90 for the season in total, but both numbers could rise even further here, considering the aggregate score.

Murillo is averaging 1.1 fouls per 90 across all competitions this season, but that figure rises significantly to 1.3 when playing away. He has recorded six fouls in his last three away outings alone, and was booked against Man City. Murillo has been even more aggressive in his duels in the Europa League, and he is averaging 1.94 fouls per 90 in the competition, landing this selection in all seven of his starts so far. That includes multiple infringements in four of those games, and one booking. 

The Brazilian international recorded two fouls against Midtjylland in the league phase, despite only lasting 28 minutes before being substituted due to an injury. He repeated that feat in the round of 16 as well, accounting for two of Forest’s nine fouls in the match. When Forest play a back three, Murillo can afford to be more intense in his challenges and get tighter to the opposing attacker, which has led to an uptick in fouls recently.
