🔍 PSG v Real Madrid Players to Watch
🔵 Gianluigi Donnarumma
Donnarumma was called into action on five occasions in PSG’s 2-0 win over Bayern Munich in the quarter finals, he’s had to be as reliable as he was during PSG’s run to the Champions League final in the Club World Cup.
He’s been forced into making 12 saves across his five games in the competition (2.40 per 90) and we can expect Real Madrid to force an increase in this average with the attacking quality they have at their disposal. Real Madrid drew five saves from Gregor Kobel in their quarter-final triumph over Dortmund and drew 10 from Di Gregorio as they overcame Juventus in the round of 16.
🔵 Achraf Hakimi
Hakimi was fouled twice in PSG’s 2-0 win over Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals and can continue to act as an outlet for PSG here. The fullback found himself to be the spare man on multiple occasions against Bayern Munich which led to him being hauled down on two occasions.
He’ll be in the thick of it here again up against Vinicius Jr who averaged 1.47 fouls committed per 90 during the 24/25 Champions League campaign. Hakimi’s ability to bomb forward and become PSG’s spare man in the final third give him a good chance of being dragged down on a few occasions here, just as he was against Bayern Munich last time out.

💻 PSG v Real Madrid Form and Tactics
PSG came through a crazy game against Bayern Munich in the quarter-finals which saw the Parisians reduced to nine men late on following red cards for Willian Pacho and Lucas Hernandez. They managed to survive the late Bayern onslaught and even got on the scoresheet with nine men as Ousmane Dembele confirmed their spot in the final four of the competition with his late strike.
PSG haven’t been at their sparkling best at the Club World Cup but have still found a way to get through games. Fatigue will certainly be a factor here, many of the players on both sides will have played more than 60 games by the time this tournament draws to a close. The return of Ousmane Dembele to the PSG side, having been on the sidelines for most of the competition, will be important here in a game of fine margins.
Real Madrid look like a completely new side under Xabi Alonso. The former Bayer Leverkusen manager has completely refreshed the squad, bedding in players like Arda Guler and Fran Garcia in new roles which have allowed Madrid to find some balance, especially in the final third.
