Rangers will be looking to finally get up and running in this season’s Europa League when they face Braga at Ibrox on Thursday night.
The Glasgow giants are enduring a nightmare campaign in Europe's secondary club competition, coming away empty-handed from each of their opening four matches.
That doesn't bode well ahead of a clash with a Braga side that sit 5th in the league phase standings, having banked nine points from a possible 12.

📈 Rangers v Braga Form & Stats
Rangers are currently rooted to the foot of the Europa League table after losing each of their first four league phase fixtures. The Light Blues are one of only two teams that have yet to put a point on the board, with Nice also yet to get off the mark. As such, Rangers have little room for error across their remaining four fixtures if they are to revive their campaign and secure a top 24 finish.
Rangers have failed to score in three of their four outings in this season’s Europa League, while they have conceded multiple goals in each of their last three matches
On the domestic front, Rangers have shown improvement under Danny Rohl, with Saturday’s 2-1 win over Livingston extending the Light Blues’ winning run in the Scottish Premiership to four matches. Despite that string of victories, Rangers sit 3rd in the table, nine points adrift of Hearts.
Carlos Vicens was a manager under pressure when Braga arrived in Glasgow to take on Celtic back on matchday two, but a well-deserved 2-0 victory sparked an upturn in form. The Arsenalists have since won six of their subsequent nine matches across all competitions, including a 2-0 win over Red Star Belgrade.
The only blemishes since Braga were last on Scottish soil have been a 4-3 loss to Genk in this competition, as well as a narrow 2-1 defeat away at Porto.
Vicens’ side are currently occupying 7th spot in the Primeira Liga, while they progressed to the next round of the Taca de Portugal courtesy of a 4-2 win over Nacional on Sunday.
Braga have been one of the most well-behaved teams at the half-way stage of the league phase, collecting just five yellow cards to date.
📔 Rangers v Braga Formation & Team News
Danny Rohl has made use of both 3-4-3 and 4-2-3-1 formations since taking over at Rangers, starting with the latter against Livingston last time out. The new Gers boss has already shown that he is a flexible manager who will switch his system depending on the opponent and game state
Derek Cornelius, John Souttar, Mikey Moore and Youssef Chermiti all missed Rangers’ win over Livingston on Saturday due to injury, with the former the only one of the four that may stand a chance of returning on Thursday night.
Bailey Rice, Dujon Sterling, Kieran Dowell and Rabbi Matondo all remained sidelined, while Nedim Bajrami was not registered for Rangers’ Europa League squad.
Braga boss Vicens favors a 3-4-3 formation, with both wing-backs given license to get forward. Veteran Joao Moutinho is expected to be anchoring the midfield while former Celtic defender Gustaf Lagerbielke will likely form part of Braga's back-three.
The visitors are reported to be carrying as close to a clean bill of health as possible ahead of their latest trip to Glasgow, with long-term injury absentee Jonatas Noro the only player currently sidelined.
