Real Madrid face Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup in Warsaw on Wednesday.
The UEFA Super Cup is a familiar stage to Los Blancos, who have claimed the trophy on five occasions; however, it is an entirely new environment for Atalanta, who shocked Leverkusen in the Europa League final to earn the right to play for this trophy.

Real Madrid v Atalanta Best Bets
➡️ Vinicius Junior to score anytime @ 2.30 with Paddy Power
➡️ Atalanta to commit 14+ fouls @ 1.73 with Paddy Power
➡️ Vinicius Junior to have 2+ shots on target @ 1.91 with Paddy Power
➡️ Ademola Lookman to have 1+ shots on target @ 1.91 with Paddy Power
Vinicius Junior is often Real Madrid’s man for the big occasion. He proved this by netting against Dortmund in the Champions League final, while also scoring twice against Bayern in the round prior. At 2.3 to score anytime, the Brazilian forward looks a fine price given he’s more up to speed than both Bellingham and Mbappe.
Another bet worth exploring is Atalanta to commit 14 or more fouls at 1.73. Across their last 11 competitive games of the 2023/24 season, Gian Piero Gasperini’s side committed at least 16 fouls on seven occasions. They also hit this figure in their last three European matches and committed a minimum of 14 in the seven knockout games on their road to glory.
Moreover, Vinicius Junior having two or more shots on target is tempting at 1.91, as he attempts to reinforce his place in the hierarchy following Mbappe’s arrival. Meanwhile, Ademola Lookman’s ability to manage one or more shots on target at 1.91 looks excellent, given that he has registered at least one shot on target in seven of his last eight starts for Atalanta.

📊 Real Madrid Form and Stats
Real Madrid have had a distinctly mixed pre-season, during which they have lacked key players due to their international commitments at the Copa America and Euro 2024.
After a fringe team beat Albacete 3-0 in Valdebebas behind closed doors, Ancelotti watched his team suffer successive defeats against AC Milan (1-0) and, more painfully, Barcelona (2-1) during a tour of the USA.
That trip concluded last Tuesday with a 2-1 success over Chelsea, in which Lucas Vazquez and Brahim Diaz netted. It was a stronger side that faced the Premier League outfit, with Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo notably gaining starts.
While the focus will be on Real Madrid’s attack, with Mbappe expected to earn minutes in this clash and Jude Bellingham primed to return to action, the midfield will also be bolstered by Eduardo Camavinga and Aurelien Tchouameni, both of whom have made the 30-man squad named by Ancelotti.
Similarly, the defence is set to be enhanced by the return of full-backs Ferland Mendy and Dani Carvajal, plugging two of the more obvious gaps in the squad during pre-season.
The big question mark over Madrid will be just how sharp these key players can be with limited training behind them.
Bellingham, of course, led Los Blancos last season in terms of goal contributions across all competitions, accumulating 36 (23G, 13A); however, Vinicius Junior was only a little off that pace with 33 (24G, 9A), and with a couple of friendly appearances under his belt, the Brazilian is a better bet to be decisive in this game. He is 2.30 to score at any time with Paddy Power.
📊 Atalanta Form and Stats
Atalanta have arguably been the greatest overachievers in European football under Gian Piero Gasperini in recent years, and they capped that fact with a well-deserved trophy last season, beating Leverkusen 3-0 in the Europa League final.
A superbly run club, they look a good bet to remain a significant force this season. They have managed to retain all of their key players from last term while making transfer sales in excess of €55 million. Meanwhile, they have spent closer to €75m making new signings and retaining Charles De Ketelaere, who amassed 25 goal contributions (14G, 11A) across all competitions last season, who was on loan from AC Milan.
However, pre-season has not been without its challenges. After a 2-2 draw with AZ Alkmaar, Gasperini’s men were humbled by Serie A new-boys Parma, losing 4-1, and were later thumped 3-0 by St. Pauli, who have just earned promotion to the Bundesliga.
It was notable that a strong side was deployed against the German outfit in Hamburg, and while widespread changes ultimately arrived, the majority of these did not come until the side was already trailing 3-0.
These performances have been ominous, and they will need the type of showing that they mustered against Leverkusen in May if they are to cause an upset here. Famously, Ademola Lookman scored a hat-trick in that match and, along with De Ketelaere is one of only two Atalanta players to find the net in pre-season.
⚔️ Real Madrid v Atalanta Head-to-Head
Real Madrid have won both of their previous competitive meetings with Atalanta, which took place in the Champions League in 2021. These encounters were played in COVID-19 conditions, with no spectators present at either fixture.
In the first of the two meetings, Los Blancos won 1-0 in Italy, with Ferland Mendy the unlikely scorer of the only goal following the dismissal of Atalanta’s Remo Freuler. Three weeks later, Zinedine Zidane led his side to a 3-1 success in the Spanish capital. Karim Benzema, Sergio Ramos, and Marco Asensio were all on target for the hosts on that evening.
However, both squads have had a significant overhaul since that era.
