Saturday's Team Shots Predictions

Fixtures for: Saturday 30th August

Tottenham v Bournemouth

Premier League

15:00

Bournemouth to have 13+ Shots

Bournemouth averaged just under 16 shots per game in the Premier League last season, only Man City, Liverpool and Chelsea had more efforts on goal per game than the Cherries.

This is due to how Bournemouth play, there is a direct instruction from Andoni Iraola not only to press high up the pitch, but to ensure that those pressures lead to attempts on goal. Bournemouth led the Premier League for high turnovers leading to shots last season.

Bournemouth had 10 shots against Liverpool at Anfield and then produced tallies of 14 and 18 against Wolves and Brentford. The lower tally at Anfield is to be expected, but the other performances show that Bournemouth have not altered their style too much from last season, we can expect a high shot average from the Cherries again this campaign.

Thomas Frank’s side limited Man City to 10 shots in their impressive performance at the Etihad, but did concede 14 shots against Burnley, who may have laid the blueprint for Iraola in this match.

Bournemouth had 17 shots in this fixture last season, resulting in an xG of 2.20. They also more than comfortably covered the line we require here in their home clash against Tottenham, in which they won 1-0 with a notable 21 total attempts on goal.

Man United v Burnley

Premier League

15:00

Burnley to have 10+ Shots

Burnley took 14 shots on the opening day of the season against Tottenham, and they can look to expose another giant of the Premier League here who are under real pressure at the moment, after a laboured start to the season.

Man United allowed Fulham to have 13 shots in their 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage in a performance that was reminiscent of their issues last season, despite some new faces on the pitch.

Burnley had seven shots against Sunderland in a game that had plenty riding on it, this is more of a free hit for Scott Parker and I’m hoping that translates to the number of efforts they have on goal.

United are currently playing with a system that leaves the middle of the park exposed, I could see many situations developing where Burnley look to go direct past United’s midfield and set up 3v3 scenarios against the backline. United conceded 10 shots to Grimsby in midweek, and I think Burnley can match, if not better, Grimsby's tally.

Leeds v Newcastle

Premier League

17:30

Newcastle to have 12+ Shots

Newcastle may be without a striker, but that hasn’t affected their ability to create chances. The issue that Newcastle are having at the moment is taking those opportunities.

Newcastle had 16 shots in their opening game of the season against Aston Villa, with only three of these attempts finding the target. They then had 10 shots against Liverpool in a crazy game in which they were reduced to 10 men just before halftime, making their double digit haul look even more impressive.

Leeds may have kept Everton to just seven shots in their opening game of the season at Elland Road, but they then felt the real force of the Premier League in their 5-0 defeat to Arsenal. The Gunners had 18 shots in that game and showed the real gap in quality between the top sides in the Premier League and the newly promoted teams.

An accumulator (acca) is a single bet that links together multiple Shots/Shots on Target selections. All selections must win for the bet to payout. It's a popular way to chase big returns from small stakes.

Oli Nixon is our Shots/Shots on Target guru. He has his fingers on the pulse with these markets, he regularly beats the closing line and specialises in player prop betting.

Only include bets in your acca that you see as good value. If the odds of each selection are long, 5/1 or bigger, for example, you may prefer to place a trixie, a patent or doubles to ensure you get a winner in some form if a long odds selection lands.

You get Sub On Play On and Void if player does not start on bet365, therefore, you get the most security with them.

Player shots, player shots on target, team shots and team shots on target.

Paddy Power Super Sub, Betfair Safe Sub and bet365 Sub On Play On are great bookmaker promotions to have onside when you’re betting on Shots/Shots on Target.

There is no best time to cashout an acca. If it’s offering an amount that you’d be content with even if it lands, it can be a smart choice to remove the jeopardy while you have the chance.

Our shots accas offer great value and landed at some great prices in 2024/25.

Not yet, but bookmarking this page will make it easier to come back when the next one has been published.

Usually if one fold of an acca loses the whole acca loses.

No, but we recommend bet365.
