Scunthorpe v Bristol Rovers
🏟
Tuesday 25th January – 7:45PM KO
Bristol Rovers have turned a corner over recent weeks and are starting to climb up the table.
They take on a Scunthorpe United side who can’t buy a win at the moment and are now six points from safety.
Joey Barton’s men will fancy their chances of another positive result against the Iron to extend their recent run of form. The Pirates are unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions, scoring eight times in the process.
They have players who will hurt the Iron such as top scorer Aaron Collins and attacking midfielder Antony Evans, who now has eight assists in the league this term.
Scunthorpe are in dire straits and haven’t scored for four games. Keith Hill has won just once in his 13 games since taking over from Neil Cox.
They are the joint lowest scorers in the division alongside Carlisle United and shouldn’t pose too much of a threat to Bristol Rovers’ backline. In addition, Scunny sold their top scorer Ryan Loft to the Gas earlier this month and he is due to return to his former club on Tuesday night.
Hill hasn’t managed to replace Loft with an experienced striker and brought in young Sam Burns from Blackburn Rovers on loan. He has never played in the Football League before and is yet to find the net for his new club.
Scunthorpe haven’t won on home soil since 23rd October so most signs point towards their opponents picking up another result.

Walsall v Bradford
🏟
Tuesday 25th January – 7:45PM KO
Walsall are in a poor run of form and are winless in their last four matches.
Matt Taylor’s side are starting to slip down the League Two table and have won just once in their last seven.
The Saddlers have been dealt a huge blow with key winger Otis Khan leaving the club for Leyton Orient this month and have missed his creativity in their last two games which have been back-to-back 2-0 losses.
Their striker George Miller has lost his shooting boots and has failed to find the net in his last 14 appearances. He bagged seven earlier in the season but nobody has stepped up to replace his goals over recent times, with Brandon Kiernon their second top scorer this term on just five.
To make matters worse for Walsall, they are struggling for central defenders for the visit of Bradford City on Tuesday. Manny Monthe is still serving his seven-match suspension whilst Rollin Menayese is also out after getting a red card against Exeter City last time out.
That leaves young Tom Leak as their only available centre-back so Zak Mills or Stephen Ward might have to play out of position.
Bradford will be looking to exploit Walsall’s lack of defensive options. The Bantams are the draw specialists in League Two this season with 12 to their name so far which shows they are always competitive in their games.
They kept a clean sheet away at Rochdale last time out and have boosted their squad in the transfer window this month by signing Jamie Walker, Dion Pereira and Matty Daly.

Leyton Orient v Newport County
🏟
Tuesday 25th January – 7:45PM KO
Newport County have got their automatic promotion push back on track over the past couple of weeks ahead of their trip to Leyton Orient on Tuesday.
The Exiles have won their last two games in the league, scoring five and not conceding.
They have the most prolific striker in League Two right now in Dom Telford. He has 18 goals to his name and will be eager to add to his tally with Forest Green Rovers’ Jamille Matt breathing down his neck in the top scorers’ chart.
James Rowberry’s men beat Scunthorpe United 1-0 last time out with Corey Baker-Richardson getting the goal to prove Telford isn’t their only source of goals. The former Swansea City man has managed two in two matches now and is in strong form.
Leyton Orient will have to be at their best to keep Newport at bay due to their visitors being the second top scorers in the division behind runaway leaders Forest Green.
Kenny Jackett’s side have drawn too many games this term (11) which has seriously dented their hopes of getting into the play-offs. The London club haven’t won in their last four games in all competitions.
The O’s goals have dried up and they haven’t found the net in their last two matches.
They have been dealt a big blow with key midfielder Craig Clay likely to be out injured for the rest of the season. Young Hector Kyprianou has taken his place but lacks the experience his teammate has.
Attacker Theo Archibald is facing a battle for fitness ahead of the Newport clash. Paul Smyth played in his position against Port Vale last time out but he has scored just once this term.
