Kidderminster Harriers keep passing big tests as they aim to close the gap between themselves and the top two.
They have received credit from a wider audience for their FA Cup exploits. They beat National League Grimsby Town and FC Halifax Town, Championship Reading and took Premier League West Ham United to extra time, all at home. When you see their league record at Aggborough, you realise that it isn’t a fluke. Russell Penn’s side have won eight, drawn two and lost one of their 11 matches at home, losing only to the two top two and being held by Gloucester City amid a run of nine games in four weeks. Their nine matches against sides at home in the league reads eight wins, one draw, 26 scored and three conceded.
That doesn’t bode well for Hereford. The Bulls have been one of the best sides in the league since early November, winning 10 of their last 15 matches. They even beat Kidderminster as part of that run. However, while their home form is fantastic, their away form hasn’t been as spectacular. They have 12 points from their 11 away games and all of those points have come in the seven games they have played against sides 11th or lower. They have lost the three games away from home against top seven sides.
Hereford are performing well but Kidderminster are very, very strong on home patch and should continue that on Tuesday.

It’s been unbelievably tough following York City in recent years and their mid-table position in the National League is hardly helping matters.
An indifferent season took a difficult turn when The Minstermen followed a relatively unsurprising 3-0 loss away at Kidderminster Harriers with a surprising 3-0 home defeat against lowly Bradford Park Avenue. The response has been positive, however. A draw with Gateshead was followed by away wins against Blyth Spartans and Bradford Park Avenue, scoring seven in the process. Then on Saturday, they turned a 2-0 deficit into a 3-2 victory against Morpeth Town in the FA Trophy. Mitch Hancox has been key to that – Askey has moved him from LB to CM, just as he did at Macclesfield Town, and the ex-Birmingham City man has four in his last two.
AFC Telford United have been brought back down to earth in their last three games, failing to score in tough fixtures against Curzon Ashton, Southport and Kidderminster Harriers after thumping home victories against Bradford Park Avenue and Darlington. Their away form has been dismal this term, earning just four points and scoring 10 goals in 12 matches and they are yet to beat any side in the top half of the league since the opening day.
York have won nine of their 12 matches against the sides below them in the table including four out of five at home. Telford are yet to win on the road. Home victory.

Welling United v Dulwich Hamlet (National League South)

For the first time in seven games, Dulwich Hamlet played in a game where only one team scored. Just like their previous game, it was a shock defeat against a side struggling at the bottom of the table. On Saturday, it was Billericay Town. Previously, it was their midweek opponents Welling United.
So why will this game be any different? The first thing to note is that The Hamlet have only failed to score on five occasions this season, including Saturday and none of those have come in successive games. Also, Welling United have kept just six clean sheets this season and none of them have come in consecutive matches. They kept a clean sheet at the weekend.
Dulwich Hamlet also have an awful defensive record in recent times. They have not kept a clean sheet in three months – 14 matches ago. That includes those results against the sides near the bottom of the league table. They haven’t kept a clean sheet away from home since the end of September. Peter Taylor’s Wings, meanwhile, have scored in seven of their last nine matches and in all but three of their home matches – all against sides in the top six.
It’s difficult to predict which way this game will go given the inconsistent form of both sides but they’re usually good for a goal and tend to concede a few.
