Both Turkey and Georgia will be aware that claiming three points here could prove crucial in their quests to qualify for the round of 16.
Touted as dark horses in 2020, Turkey tumbled out of the competition at the group stage, losing each of their three matches.
As for Georgia, they will be taking part in a major tournament for the first time in their history this summer.
Turkey v Georgia Best Bets
➡️ Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to be fouled 2+ times @ 1.44 with Paddy Power
➡️ Baris Alper Yilmaz to have 1+ shot on target @ 1.67 with Paddy Power
Georgia will look to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for inspiration in this Group F curtain-raiser and the Crusaders talisman looks worth siding with to be fouled twice or more.
The Napoli ace was prolific at drawing fouls during qualifying for Georgia, being roughed up on average 2.33 times per game. In fact, just seven other players suffered more fouls during the preliminaries, suggesting the Georgian sensation represents a nice slice of value to be on the receiving end of at least two fouls during this tussle with Turkey.
Turkey striker Baris Alper Yilmaz has been priced up at 1.67 on Paddy Power to register a shot on target on Tuesday evening and those odds hold plenty of appeal.
After scoring in the Crescent Stars’ 2-1 friendly defeat against Poland last week, the likelihood is that the Galatasaray forward will be deployed as the main striker against Georgia. With Yilmaz averaging 1.32 shots per 90, and 0.62 hitting the target per 90, backing him to work the goalkeeper just once seems like a sensible option to take.

⚔️ Turkey v Georgia Head-to-Head
International fixtures between Turkey and Georgia have been few and far between across the last two decades.
The two nations have not come up against each other since facing off in a friendly fixture way back in May 2012, with the Crescent Stars claiming a 3-1 victory.
You have to go even further back for the last competitive contest between the pair – a 2006 World Cup qualifier. Turkey also came out on top on that occasion, triumphing 5-2 in Tbilisi.
However, Georgia have come on leaps and bounds since then and have shown themselves to be capable and competitive against the majority of sides on the continental circuit.
📊 Turkey Form and Stats
Having failed to win any of their four matches this calendar year, Turkey’s form in the run-up to Euro 2024 doesn’t make for great reading.
While that four-game sample is all based on friendly fixtures, it does include a 6-1 mauling at the hands of Austria back in March.
In fact, the Crescent Stars have had issues keeping clean sheets since securing their place at Euro 2024 last October, having failed to do so in five of their six subsequent outings.
At the other end of the park, Turkey have also lacked cutting edge in the final third of late, scoring just once from open play across their four assignments in 2024 thus far.
In their last outing against Poland, Vincenzo Montella’s men created an xG of 2.02 compared to the Eagles’ 1.18 xG, yet still managed to find themselves on the wrong end of a 2-1 defeat.
Turkey were among the most ill-disciplined sides during Euro 2024 qualifying, racking up 27 yellow cards across their eight Group D outings.
Despite only appearing five times during the preliminary stages, centre-back Merih Demiral picked up three yellow cards, which would suggest the 26-year-old isn’t shy about sticking his boot in.
📊 Georgia Form and Stats
Georgia are making their major international tournament debut this summer and head to Germany as the lowest-ranked team at Euro 2024.
After defeating Luxembourg 2-0 at the Euro 2024 play-off semi-final stage, the Crusaders went on to secure qualification courtesy of a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Greece.
Somewhat surprisingly, Georgia participated in just one warm-up match ahead of Euro 2024, picking up a 3-1 win away at Montenegro. Willy Sagnol’s side won the shot count 14-11 during that friendly victory and produced a 2.0 xG output to Montenegro’s tally of 1.56.
Having won just once away from home during qualifying, that away success in Montenegro last week will have further boosted Georgia’s confidence ahead of their maiden appearance at a major tournament.
Willy Sagnol’s side showed during qualifying just how hard-working and close-knit they are, with only Kazakhstan (194) making more successful tackles than Georgia (151) during the preliminaries.
Like Turkey, the Crusaders also collected 27 yellow cards during qualifying, although they did have two extra fixtures to fulfil in the play-off round.
