• With 19 goals in all competitions, Ferran Torres had his most prolific campaign to date last term, scoring on average every 101 minutes.
• Ten of those goals came in the league, and he is well on track to better that tally this season, already sitting on two goals from three matches.

🔵 A Hint of Good Fortune for the Catalans
Barcelona have got off to an unbeaten start in their title defence, although they haven’t been the most convincing. Against Rayo Vallecano last time out, Joan Garcia was the standout performer at the Vallecas Stadium, making five saves to ensure his side took a point. The hosts managed 12 shots worth 1.85 xG, slightly more than Barcelona’s total of 1.83 xG.
In the game before that, newly-promoted Levante looked dangerous on the break. Despite having just 18% possession, Granotes carved out six big chances worth 2.14 xG. While Barcelona registered way more efforts at goal, they amounted to just 1.93 xG. Barcelona did convincingly win in gameweek one, although Mallorca were hindered massively by two first-half red cards.
It is worth noting that Barcelona have played all their games on the road so far, and will look forward to a return to familiar surroundings this weekend.
⚪ Constructive Performances under Carlos Corboran
Corboran deserves immense credit for inspiring a Valencian resurgence last season, taking charge when his boyhood club were in the depths of the relegation zone, and delivering a respectable 12th-place finish, only six points off the European spots. Los Ches went on a ten-game unbeaten run from March to May, during which they were incredibly impressive.
Over the summer, they lost key players in defensive areas, notably Cristhian Mosquera, who joined Arsenal, and Giorgi Mamardashvili, who departed to Liverpool. A lacklustre start saw Valencia pick up just one point from their opening two games, but Los Ches were able to kick off their campaign against Getafe just before the international break, cruising to a comfortable 3-0 win at the Mestalla Stadium.
Summer signing Arnaut Danjuma got on the scoresheet, while Largie Ramazani, on loan from Leeds United, registered an assist after making his debut off the bench.
📊 Barcelona v Valencia H2H
Barcelona won 5-0 when these sides last met in the Copa del Rey back in February, meaning the Catalans have prevailed in the last four head-to-head meetings against Valencia. Results in that period have been one-sided, too, with Barcelona winning by an aggregate score of 18-4.
