Saturday’s Italian Serie A Accumulator Tips
It’s still somewhat unclear where in the pile Parma lie since their promotion from the second division, but their attractive brand of football has certainly impressed neutrals.
Parma have found the back of the net 10 times this season, including at least once in six of their seven Serie A clashes. Those include tough matches against the likes of league-leaders Napoli, high-flying Milan, and Udinese, representing three of the top six. The only time they failed to beat the keeper came away at Bologna, when they failed to capitalise on their chances which were worth well over 1xG. Over the course of the season, only four teams have racked up more expected goals than Parma.
Como have conceded at least one in all of their seven games, averaging two conceded per game. They’ve allowed two or more goals in each of their last four games including against Bologna and Verona, neither of whom boast the most prolific of offences and are likely to struggle against Parma.
Como and Parma clashed twice last season in Serie B with Parma netting twice both home and away.
Although it hasn’t been an ideal start to the season for Bologna, it was probably to be expected given the number of key players who left over the summer. All things considered, they’ve handled it pretty well and it would be a surprise if they lost at home to struggling Genoa.
Only Juventus have lost fewer league games than Bologna who have been beaten only once, in their second match of the season against Napoli. As such they’re now on a five-game unbeaten run in the league, alongside having been excellent value for their Champions League draw against Shakhtar Donetsk.
Conversely, Genoa fans have struggled to keep their eyes open during their sides’ matches, having been rewarded with just one win this season. They’ve conceded the most goals and expected goals of any Serie A team, averaging 2.35xGA per 90 with their attack failing to compensate. Going forward, only Monza have created fewer expected goals with Genoa who have accumulated just 7.23 and converted a mere five.
Although historically one might be averse to backing Udinese to score in this fixture, they’ve had a fantastic start to the season, sitting in fifth and could provide some stiff competition for the Rossonneri.
Milan have scored at least one in all seven league matches so far this season and it’d be a shock if they failed to find the back of the net against Udinese. Only Inter and Atalanta can boast more goals than the home side, who have racked up 15 already this season. Udinese have kept just two league clean sheets and are averaging 1.87xGA per 90. Two of their last three matches came against already Inter and Roma with Udinese conceding three in each.
Looking in the other direction, Milan have conceded in seven of their nine matches across all competitions, shipping 13 overall. Udinese have marked the scoresheet in eight out of nine fixtures, only failing to do so once, against Roma. They’ve recently put three past Parma and Salernitana as well as scoring twice against Inter.
Looking at the head-to-head, both teams have scored in eight of the last nine showings of this fixture, with Milan unable to keep a clean sheet in the previous eleven attempts.
