Brazil v Morocco Match Preview
Brazil will be desperate to avoid a slip-up on the opening day of their 2026 World Cup campaign, but they know full well this won't be a walk in the park. Standing in their way is a Morocco side that turned heads at the 2022 tournament, reaching the semi-finals and proving they can mix it with the very best.
Morocco have been in solid form heading into this one, winning all four of their friendlies this year and keeping things tight at the back, conceding just twice across those games. Morocco, meanwhile, are dealing with their own injury headaches. Winger Abde Ezzalzouli and centre-back Nayef Aguerd have both been ruled out ahead of the opener, two significant losses for a side that prides itself on being well-organised and hard to break down. Noussair Mazraoui is also a doubt after hobbling off in the final warm-up against Norway, with Premier League duo Issa Diop and Chadi Riad expected to form the centre-back pairing.
