Dundee and St Mirren square off in a crunch clash at the foot of the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon, and I’m backing the hosts to avoid defeat.
While Steven Presley’s side were soundly beaten 3-0 by arch-rivals Dundee United last weekend, they have proven to be a tough nut to crack at home for several months now. In fact, the Dark Blues have lost just two of their last eight Scottish Premiership home matches, both narrow defeats in spirited performances where they pushed title contenders Hearts and Celtic all the way.
It is also worth noting that Dundee have already beaten St Mirren at home this season, while they secured a 0-0 draw in Paisley at the end of January. The fact that the Saints have taken top honours from just two of their 17 Scottish top-flight away matches this term only strengthens the case for backing Dundee on the Double Chance.
