Albania v Serbia
Kick Off: Saturday 7th June at 19:45
Competition: World Cup 2026 Qualifiers - Europe
Serbia have lost just one of their last 10 matches, and have kept a clean sheet in five of their last nine matches
Albania have won just two of their last seven matches
Five of Albania’s last seven matches have featured Under 2.5 Goals
Albania and Serbia will square off in World Cup qualifying in Tirana on Saturday night. The hosts will be looking to build on their 3-0 win over Andorra last time out, while Serbia are playing catch-up due to their Nations League commitments.
The pre-match odds suggest Serbia will make a winning start to their campaign, with the visitors 2.10 favourites, while Albania are 3.10 outsiders. As for the draw, that has been priced up at 3.20.
Meanwhile, the Over/Under 2.5 goal line points towards a low-scoring affair, with unders heavily favoured at 1.57.
⭐ Albania v Serbia Predictions and Best Bets
Serbia possess some real firepower up top, and they should prove too hot to handle for an inferior Albania outfit. What’s more, Serbia will enter this clash in high spirits, having avoided defeat in nine of their last 10 matches across all competitions.
As for Albania, they were beaten at home by a similar standard of opposition in the shape of Ukraine in the not-too-distant past.
Given that 10 of Serbia’s last 11 matches have failed to break the Over 2.5 Goal barrier, Under 2.5 Goals looks an obvious angle of attack at 1.57. A narrow Serbia win looks likely.
🔴 Albania Struggling for Consistency
Albania have been in mixed form since exiting Euro 2024 last summer. While Sylvinho’s side were relegated to Nations League Group C, it’s worth pointing out that they avoided defeat in three of their six matches, most notably winning away from home against both Ukraine and Georgia.
There was no shame in losing their opening World Cup qualifier away at England. The Red and Blacks bounced back from that defeat with a 3-0 win over international minnows Andorra. Albania outperformed their xG tally of 1.33 against Andorra, racking up 15 shots on goal, seven of which hit the target.
⚪ Serbia a Tough Nut to Crack
Having avoided defeat in nine of their last 10 matches, Dragan Stojkovic has made Serbia a difficult side to play against. Their solitary defeat across that 10-game sample came against Spain away from home, not to mention they held the current European champions to a draw in Belgrade last September.
Serbia also showed their mettle to preserve their Nations League Group A status with a 3-1 aggregate win over Austria during the most recent international window. A 2-0 success against Austria in the second leg means that Serbia have managed to silence their opponents in five of their last nine matches.
📊 Albania v Serbia Head-to-Head Key Stats
Albania and Serbia will come up against each other for the first time since meeting during the qualification stages for Euro 2016. In fact, that is the only time the two nations have crossed paths to date. Albania claimed a 3-0 win away from home before falling to a 2-0 defeat in the return match.
With no recent head-to-head data to go on, Albania’s 2-1 defeat when hosting Ukraine late last year could give us an indication as to how this game will pan out, as just six places separate Serbia and Ukraine in the current FIFA rankings.
