Granted it’s not the most exciting of Monday Night Football fixtures but a bet builder should certainly make Patrick Vieira’s return to Arsenal a tad more exciting for neutrals. The match is of course televised on Sky Sports and the highlight of the game will probably be Neville and Carragher going at each other over what a s**tshow Man Utd are at present. Anyway… Arsenal have hit a good run of form after their disastrous start with 5 wins and a draw in their previous 6 matches (all competitions), all while conceding just a single goal. Palace on the other hand have had a mixed start to life under the former Arsenal captain, with their only win being a surprise 3-0 beat down of Spurs. The Eagles will be looking to complete the North London double with a upset victory this evening.
Arsenal v Crystal Palace Bet Builder tips
Bukayo Saka to have 1+ Shot on Target v Crystal Palace
The first selection in the basket is The Arsenal start boy, Bukayo Saka to have at least one shot on target. Having scored for England over the international break, he will be looking to continue that form this evening, though I expect Palace will provide a sterner test than Andorra. It looks like Saka will be starting on the right and I expect he will get plenty of shooting opportunities against a Crystal Palace side who are likely to sit deep and invite pressure.
If you look at the Cheat Sheet posted below, you’ll see that the 20 year old has taken more than two shots per match in the league so far with 0.73 troubling the goalkeeper. I always look for a player who is likely to play the full 90 minutes (which is why I have stayed away from Pepe despite his stats being impressive). Saka is a generous price in my opinion and looks an ideal selection to get tonight’s bet builder up and running.

Odsonne Edouard to have 1+ Shot on Target v Arsenal
The former Celtic man has surprised many casual football fans (who think the Scottish Premiership is full of farmers) since joining Crystal Palace in the summer. He bagged a brace in his seven minute cameo on debut in the victory against Tottenham and has has since forced his way into the starting eleven at the expense of Christian Benteke. Edouard is likely to get the nod again this evening and will play down the middle up against the Gunners’ centre back pairing of Gabriel and Ben White. Now I know I may have contradicted myself a little here because Edouard may be get subbed late on but his stats are very impressive and I just have a bit of a feeling that he will go well here…
Speaking of his stats, the Cheat Sheet shows that he is averaging a ridiculous 1.91 shots on target per 90 minutes played! Unsurprisingly that is the highest of any player in the Crystal Palace squad and the fact he also has 3.35 shots per 90 also shows he isn’t afraid to have a crack, no matter how speculative.

Connor Gallagher to be Booked v Arsenal
It’s a televised Monday night game and there was only one man for the job… Ladies and gentleman, welcome to the Mike Dean show! The man is taking centre stage at the Emirates which means I am definitely adding in a card selection to completed this bet builder. Big Mike Dean is averaging 3.8 card per game so far this season and has yet to make any massively controversial decisions, till now anyway.
It’s a London derby and I would be surprised to see a few heavy tackles coming in which led to think Connor Gallagher is the man to back for a booking. He tops the fouls per game stat on my Cheat Sheet at 2.41 per 90 minutes (the only player on either side that scores above 2.0) and has already picked up two yellow cards. Granted he is a talented player but he is also a bit of a b*****d. The Chelsea loanee was cautioned 11 times last season and I wouldn’t put it past his to surpass that this campaign, especially in a Crystal Palace side that will be on the back foot for a lot of their matches. Gallagher will likely be defending against Emile Smith-Rowe who is the second most fouled player in the Arsenal squad, add all the above points together and he looks a solid choice to go into Mike Dean’s book.
