Despite looking extremely poor last time out in Lisbon, Atletico Madrid boast a phenomenal record under Diego Simeone at home. Last season, Atletico Madrid won all five home games in Europe (they beat Inter Milan on penalties after extra-time), and have continued that record into the current season, after beating RB Leipzig 2-1 thanks to a late goal from Jose Gimenez.

Atletico Madrid also remain unbeaten at home in La Liga, with a record of three wins and two draws so far. Meanwhile, Lille have really struggled on the road in the Champions League, losing six of their last eight matches – this is set to be an extremely tough test for them. They were comfortably beaten 2-0 by Sporting in round one.

Jonathan David has found some form recently, after a rocky start to the season. He has scored five goals in his last five games. In that run, he also got on the scoresheet against Real Madrid, albeit from the penalty spot. He managed four shots in that game, with three on target.

In his last five games, David has accumulated 16 shots, averaging 3.2 shots per game, landing a shot on target in four of those five. He also played the full 90 minutes in each.

Given that the Canadian will be the focal point of Lille attacks, and on penalties, he is one to target against an Atletico defence who have looked weaker with key players Robin Le Normand and Marcos Llorente missing.

Samuel Lino has a stellar shot record for Atletico Madrid, averaging 2.94 shots per 90 in all competitions this campaign. He has registered at least two shots in six out of seven starts so far, only failing against Rayo Vallecano, where he was withdrawn at half time on one shot.

Operating as a left wingback, Lino has the freedom to push forward into the attacking line, creating numerical overloads. He often finds himself in the box looking to get on the end of crosses.

The Brazilian has accumulated 16 shots in La Liga so far, with every single one coming from inside the box – a testament to his attacking work rate.

Alexsandro Ribeiro picked up two bookings in his last two games, as he tends to be extremely aggressive in his duels. Riberio is averaging 0.82 fouls per 90 this season, making at least one foul in ten out of 13 appearances in all competitions so far.

Standing at 6’3, the Brazilian is a commanding presence on the field, and often looks to contest aerial duels. In addition, he is averaging 1.46 tackles per game for Lille this season, highlighting his willingness to duel and be aggressive with the opposition striker.

Because of that, he can sometimes find himself drawn out of position.
Given that Ribeiro has made a foul in both Champions League games so far, against Real Madrid and Lille, he seems a sensible target once more.

Antoine Griezmann has unsurprisingly been an integral part of the Atletico Madrid forward line, as he has already picked up four goals and five assists in his 12 matches played in all competitions. He has registered a goal involvement in seven out of 12 games so far this campaign.

Griezmann got on the scoresheet in the previous game against Leganes, also creating two big chances as he played a massive role in that victory. He also picked up the Player of the Match award for his efforts.

Prior to that, he also registered an assist for the only goal scored by Atletico Madrid against Real Sociedad. He has been in excellent form and will be looking to take advantage of a Lille side who have struggled on the road in Europe.

Benjamin Andre missed the last game for Lille due to suspension, but is due to return to his role in defensive midfield. So far this season, Andre is averaging 1.92 fouls per game, with two or more fouls landing in eight out of 12 games.

The Lille captain made two fouls against Real Madrid, and three fouls against Sporting in the Champions League. In addition, Andre has an average of 2.67 tackles per game in all competitions this campaign, highlighting his willingness to duel. He has made the most tackles for Lille this term.

He should find duels against the likes of Antoine Griezmann, Rodrigo de Paul and Conor Gallagher in the heart of midfield for Atletico.

Jonathan David looks set to lead the line for Lille, after captaining his side in the previous game against Monaco in the absence of Benjamin Andre. The Canadian has played the full 90 in each of his last four games, featuring as a lone striker for Lille. In that time, he has made six fouls in total, with at least one foul landing in all of those.

David made two fouls against Real Madrid, and was shown a card in that game. He displayed a willingness to help out defensively, and drop deeper into midfield to contest duels.

Over the course of the season, he is averaging 0.84 fouls per 90, with at least one foul landing in six out of eleven games.

Edon Zhegrova managed three shots against Real Madrid last time out in the Champions League, with all three from outside the box. Playing on the right wing, Zhegrova has a tendency to cut in onto his stronger left foot and shoot from around the edge of the box.

The Kosovan international also had a shot from a free-kick against Real Madrid, so could be in contention to take set-pieces in this game. Zhegrova has accrued the most shots for Lille this campaign, averaging 2.59 per 90 minutes. He has scored six goals in all competitions too, which is only bettered by Jonathan David who has racked up eight goals.
