It’s straight back to league action for Barcelona after a very disappointing midweek trip to Stamford Bridge. Hansi Flick’s side were comprehensively beaten by Chelsea, albeit with 10-men for a large period. However, it could’ve been far worse with Chelsea having several goals chalked off.
With Real Madrid not in action until the following day, it’s a chance for the hosts to return to the summit if they can see off 14th placed Alaves.

📈 Barcelona v Alaves Form & Stats
Barcelona have been immaculate at the Camp Nou, as they so often are. They have won all six games here, scored 20 times, and conceded just three.
All but one of their La Liga matches this season have seen three or more match goals, and that record extends to a 100% strike rate when playing on their own turf.
It’s unsurprising that they dominate the majority of metrics at home. They’ve averaged 7.00 corners per match in front of their own fans and have won the corner match bet in 83% of home fixtures.
Alaves look like they need a miracle here, and in search of that, I think they’ll commit plenty of fouls and pick up a few cards.
They’ve received three or more cards in all six of their away games so far this season. Their foul numbers on the road have been hefty too - 11, 15, 17, 18, 20 & 21.
📔 Barcelona v Alaves Formation & Team News
Ronald Araujo will be available for Barcelona here despite his midweek sending off.
Gavi and Ter-Stegen remain sidelined with long-term injuries, and Pedri will be missing once again following an injury he picked up in training after El Clásico.
Barca will line up in their usual 4-3-3 system. We may see some rotation following their midweek exploits, as a few jaded bodies may need a rest.
Ferran Torres started in midweek and had a particularly brutal evening, so we could see Marcus Rashford return to the line-up. A start for Gerard Martin may be on the cards again after a good performance against Bilbao in their last league match.
Alaves switch between a 4-4-2 and a 4-5-1 depending on the game state. I’d expect them to line up with two strikers, but we’ll see them sitting deep on plenty of occasions.
On-loan Brazilian Calebe was the only new absentee in their defeat to Celta Vigo.
